Post stromung with custom mid-pipe

Just wondering if anyone here has the stromung with the intermediate pipe that got a resonator welded in. I hear people that the stromung are pretty loud and the intermediate pipe doesn't have a resonator. just wondering if anyone here put a resonator on it...did it make a quiter? at cruising speeds?

I had two different resonator setups with my Stromung, now installed on the 2001 RS of Red RS. A simple 14" resonator makes a big difference in tolerability! I couldn't take any more of the Stromung with an unresonated 2.25" midpipe, but after the resonator I felt I could drive it on the freeway indefinitely.

Resonators remove the "droning" sound you'll get at cruising speeds. Yes, they make just about the loudest mufflers tolerable.

No, Stromung's 2.25" midpipe is straight-through. No resonator attached.

If you want something that's more bang for the buck vs. Stromung check this link out

The Brullen's are full stainless steel, comes in variety of tip styles as well as offers both "loud" and "quiet" versions.

Question

At the Scooby meet Sunday, there were three Imprezas there with Stromung. I heard all of them, they aren't loud! I drove one arond the parking lot. From what I've read on the list, Stromung are one of the loudest mufflers!?? None had resonators, either. Hmm....back to my drawing board on what exhaust to purchase.

Wink

I never noticed my stromung above my stereo and the open sunroof at highway speeds. Just in the early morning during the commute.
