Default OT..sort of: Perspective

For the winter, I've been mostly driving a 13 year old Jeep Wrangler, which is my plow vehicle. It has no power, handles like....a 13 year old Jeep and rattles like.....a 13 year old Jeep. Maybe once every other week, I climb into the RS and take it out. Man! Feels like at least a BMW....maybe a Porsche. And this is with 15" snow tires. It's all a matter of perspective.

On the other hand....during the summer, I drive the Cobra around for a day and then get in the RS with Azenis and the 4 pots and think, "man, my foot's to the floor and I'm not going anywhere".

It's all a matter of perspective and what you're used to. Want to upgrade your WRX cheaply? Go to Enterprise and rent their cheapest, Geo Metro-like car for a week. You'll get back in the REX and swear that it's on a permanant nitrous oxide diet.

thanks for your attention.

Haha, this reminds me of something I posted on a CRX forum years ago...

My first summer out of HS, I worked for Pepsi, riding around with the hurt truck drivers and doing all the heavy lifting...

"Want to know the cheapest, quickest upgrade for your CRX? Drive around in a Pepsi truck for 50 hours a week"

My CRX felt like a ferrari every day leaving work...

I drove an F-150 for over three weeks while my car was in the shop during the summer... felt like a Porsche when I got back into it.

Kris regularly refers to his WRX as "the Skyline" after he's been driving the Neon for a week or so.

So, what you're saying Jack is that the Jeep and RS need mods, right?

That's what I heard.

granted my other vehicle is a turbo ambulance (most of the time) but these are beat on.

think of when you think it's great to have a rental so you can beat on it, well this is what these vehicles go through more or less 24/7. not to mention the fact that some of us really do some horrible things to them, but it's fun

speed safely
