Default Racing Mercedes on SPEED: watch cars in 1903 drift!!!

If you get a chance to watch this 2 part series on SPEEDTV, you will get to see the history of Mercedes Benz and watch early car races and some wild thin wheel drifting.

enjoy,
chris

I saw some of that on the history channel's auto shows about the history of some of the older european manufacturures during the early 1900's. I bet some of those drivers back then are every bit as good as the drivers today... Wild stuff.

Unfortunately, crashes were 10x more likely to be fatal as these cars were barreling down dirt roads at speeds in excess of 80mph and hardly had any safety features. Hell! the drivers didnt even wear helmets!!!

I was impressed by the speeds they were going and especially with hardly any brakes!

I couldn't believe it when they said "12L, 4 cylinder"....
