Default rear main seal replacement?+ flywheel and pressure plate bolt torque?

How hard is it to change it. I've got the tranny and clutch out for a clutch replacement. So I thought I might as well replace the seal . Does it just pop out with a pick or do you have to split the block halves. Also is there a special seal driver to put it back in.
Also Act pressure plate and flywheel bolt torque any one have this

Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

my 2 cents, don't replace it, if it's not leaking don't touch it. I have seen people think this wasa good idea and end up gouging a crank in the process then having to do it all over again, and the seal rides in a holder you remove the holder and pop the seal out.

Actually it is leaking! What holder are you talking about. Because all I see is block, seal, crank no holder?

Are you sure it's leaking? There is a plate on the rear passenger side of the motor that covers a wrist pin access hole that VERY commonly leaks. Both hndatch and I have had to go in and reseal ours. It appears as almost a random leak towards the rear of the motor, very hard to track down.

I know for sure that the pressure plate torque is very little, 11-14ft-lb. But I think 45ft-lb for the flywheel.good luck

Went to dealer today got the seal . Couple of bucks, also bought a service manual for the car $30 dollars for the 1 out of 8 that they print for the impreza. All you have to do is pop out the old and use a seal driver to put in the new. Cost of new seal driver $22 (not bad to have laying around). Also I will check the plate in back the one that has "33" stanped in back of it . I'll probably re seal it just for added safety . Anyway thanks for all the info.

FYI, you need an impact driver to get that plate off. It's got friggen phillips flathead screws on it, so it's either use one of those hammer-based impacts or strip out the head.
