Default what is the going rate for 2.5 GT wheels/tires?

thinking about selling the ones on our legacy... came from a 99 model, has one or two rock chips, no curbing, but it has marks from wheel weight removal , re92's at 50%. what can i expect from them?

I got a set summer 2001 that had pretty good rash for $200. Came with bald Dunlop sp 5000s...

$200 - $300 seams reasonable

A good set of subie 16" wheels are $100 - $125 a piece, no problem. I paid $500 for mine (from an RS).

The tires are near worthless unless they are good tires and are nearly new. I don't think many people want used RE92s, but you may get lucky.

(oh, I think the $500 included $25/wheel shipping).

I recently paid Crazy Ken ~$500.00 for a set of Legacy wheels with Nokian NRW's. But the tires alone were easily worth $100.00 each...

Your biggest obstacle is the used RE-92's. Generally, no one really wants those; they're just adding bulk to the shipping costs.

The going rate for WRX take-offs with new RE-92's seems to be about $300-$350 around here- you have much nicer & rarer wheels, but crappy tires... RS wheels tend to go for more $ because they're 7" wide and clear bigger brake kits...

I'd ask $350 plus shipping and see what you get.

Are the GT wheels 16x7 with a 53 offset?

The Legacy wheels are either +53 or +55. As are the WRX wheels. I'm pretty sure it's +55, but I can't remember for sure.

Certainly not +50.

Both are 16x6.5"

So the only advantage to these wheels over the WRX take offs that are flooding the market would be to those people that want a big brake kit.

I think the only reason they fit the big brakes is the slight offset decrease. Realize you can get the WRX stockers to fit if you use a 3mm spacer, reducing the offset to 52.

Anyone know weights of the two?

No, they're also much, much rarer and prettier

I doubt the Legacy wheels truly offer better brake clearance. Offsets are the same. I think the weights are pretty close as well...

Anyone ever measure the spoke clearance on 'em?

If not, I can do this in the spring, when the Leg wheels come off my wife's Impreza and the WRX wheels come off my Legacy

argh... all i know is that the 2.5 rs wheels are 16x7, are lighter, and have enough clearance for 4-pot sti brakes, whereas my gt wheels are 16x6.5 and do not clear 4-pots. i'm pretty sure the rs wheels have a different offset because it dosen't sit as deep in the wheelwell, but i'm guessing that's because they had to make sure the extra 0.5" dosen't hit anything on the inside?

there... the cat is out of the bag

Yes, the offsets are different with the RS wheels I have. Actually, they do sit deeper in the wheel well, and can cause problems on hitting stuff on the inside.

I can not put on 225/50-16 on my car (Y2k wagon) because I have the RS Wheels. There is not enough clearance on the inside of the rear tire to put a bigger tire on. (Well, it might work, but I seriously doubt it).

With either the stock Outback, or the GT, there is plenty of clearance at my tight spot to put a wider tire on, like the 225.

Maybe I should just get a spacer, but not being able to use 225 tires was a surprise I was not expecting from the RS wheels!

Default rim size

Look at the back of the rim.
It will show the size, something like 16x6.5jj53.
The 16 is dia, the 6.5 is width, the jj is lip style (shape) and the 53 is the offset.
