Lightbulb water injection

hey all, i'm devising a way to add water injection into our car.
i was thinking of getting a washer bottle and pump, and rmote mounting it then having an on/off switch and a pot to controll the amount of water being spreyed in.
i was then going to mount the sprey bit on the filter housing on the inlet side of the filter and spreying it down through a sprinkler jet.
this would alow me to cool the turbine, the inter cooler and the manifold as well as cooling the charge.
after attendin aviation school i know that only a large amount of water ingestion is going to stuff my engine.
so how does this sound.
any sugestions.
thanks

warlord

I really doubt that simple setup would work. You need a very high pressure pump ~150 psi and special atomizing nozzle to get the desired effect. Plus it has to be metered perfectly or your performance will be very inconsistant. On the WRX the best placement of the nozzle is right before the TB. I am going with water injection eventually as an alternative to running high octane gas >93 which isn't readily available or affordable.

www.aquamist.co.uk is a good site and manufacturer of water injection systems.

That sounds horribly wrong!

1: you do not want to cool the turbo.
2: it is best to spray just before the throttle body
3: A windshield washer pump does not flow enough nor gives enough pressure
4: a sprinkler jet does not deliver the fine mist that you need to cool the charge
5: you need some sort of pressure sensor or engine management to turn on the water injection system to get any functional use out of it....not a toggle switch

mr2 beat me to it......
