Wink Two clutches, and a new fly wheel?!

Well, the second clutch and new fly wheel are not in yet, but on order from Subaru.
They just can't seem to get it right! I got the original clutch replaced under warranty about a month ago, they put it in on a bad fly wheel and could not get it to work right?! (I wonder why!) Well now it's back in the shop waiting for one more repair. I hope things go better this time! I miss my car sooooooo much
I wish I had the cash to have them put in a lightened fly wheel and performance clutch! oh well.
Happy Driving, Shawn

I hate to tell you this but the stock Subaru clutchs are crap. you will eventually suffer from what most of us are suffering from, Clutch Shudder. The stock Pressure Plate seems to be the culprit. My car is at the dealer right now getting the clutch replaced with a much better ACT Street setup. i am also having them install a b-spec lightened flywheel at the same time. It may be worth your while to look into getting a better replacement clutch because the stock one suffers from reaccuring problems that Subaru can not seem to iron out...Good luck

Cool

You'll love the ACT clutch, although you might want to exercise your clutch leg for a few days, J/K it's not that much stiffer. It actually feels just about right. Anyhow, let me know how you like the B-spec flywheel. I'm curious. Thanks Brian

Did the dealer give you any problems. I burnt my clutch, but, it is still under warrantee, will they give me a problem? I hope not. Only aftermarket parts are intake and exhuast.

Mr.Preza - clutch is a wear item and it's not covered under the bumper-to-bumper. It MAY be covered under a limited 12k warranty or so. The brake rotors on my old Grand Cherokee were replaced under warranty at about 11k miles. The just didn't like hauling a 4500 lb loaf of bread down from 100mph repeatedly. >shrug<

Thumbs up

Just had B-spec flywheel and ACT street clutch installed last week. I must say that they are pretty good. The clutch is stiffer than stock, but not that much. The first day was a bit*h for me because I stalled so many times Now, no problem. Love it
Oh, the damn stock flywheel is so heavy. I mean really heavy

kkeetha -- I just picked the car up earlier today. Imust say that I am impressed with both the clutch and te flywheel. I did not stall once just took a few times to get used to the action of the clutch. The flywheel does not feel all that different to me. It is designed to have a majority of it's mass at the outer edges to aid in getting the car moving and maintain easy drivability. So my question is was the clutch or the Flywheel makeing you stall??

Gotcha -- The flywheel is nice but is barely noticeable when just cruising around and in traffic due to it's design. I like it and the clutch is only slightly stiffer then stock. I am happy all around with the setup as it sits right now. I just have to be nice to it until the break in mileage is up 500miles or so
