Post headers banging against skid plate all of a sudden?

Ok now (just started this week) I am getting vibration/noise from the headers (I'm guessing) vibrating against my primitive racing skid plate.

They never USED to do this except occasionally when the car went through hard shifts.

Could it just be the engine is running rough and causing more vibration to occur?

I am getting the car tuned up this morning, hopefully that will fix things but I'm just curious as to why this would start all of a sudden.

I'm also switching to Mobil 1 10W30 synthetic engine oil. Think I'll see any leaks? 30k miles on the ODO.

on my skid plate, rumble soft, It was pretty close, so I added some washers to space it a bit. That may help if you can't get your engine to settle down, you may want to check your motor mounts, not that I've heard of them breaking, but...

this happens after a while with most skid plates, they start to curve from the heat, just take it off and bend it back to shape, my buddy does this every now and agian and it keeps the rattle away. also you shouldnt see any leaks. i just switched at 56k and im not having any problems....yet

If you have properly maintained your engine, you will never see leaks from switching to synthetic.

You will sometimes see leaks in an older engine because existing leaks are filled with coke from the dino oil. The higher detergent properties of synth gets rid of the deposits and opens up the existing leak.

If you've properly maintained your engine, you don't have coke deposits.
