Post Headers: Help me choose

I'm looking for headers for my 1997 2.2L Impreza L. Everything that I've found only works for the 2.5L. Anyone have any suggestions??? Money is sort of an issue.

Check MRT... they might have something for you. More of a market for 2.2l mods in australia.

If you have the 2 port exhaust then all the 2.5 stuff will work. If not spo has some single port headers

Both Borla and MRT have applications for the 2.2L motors with single port design.

There's not too many choices out there.

SPO mototsports has some by Syms, for 2.0 WRX and 2.2 (22b) that look really, really, tight.

I talked to Scott over there for a while tonight and they are on the top of my list right now for my upgrade.

SYMS also makes a naturally aspirated header.

Cost was $2000-3000ish.

That wasn't a typo. $2-3000 dollars for headers.

Everything SYMS does is high quality, but I have no idea how they fly off the shelves like they do in Japan. At those prices....

If money's an issue (when is it not an issue :rolleyes, you want the MRT exhaust. Search the Vendor Classified forum for "MRT headers" - Kyle is finishing one group buy and starting another. Complete exhaust system from the heads back (headers, hi-flow cat, midpipe, backbox) for less than $600 delivered. Dyno-tested to deliver 10-15 more hp, too!

Question

Anybody know the diameter of the outlet of the Borla headers at the cat flange? Just curious, I am interested in getting one...

MRT doesn't by chance make anything for the 1.8L in the area of headers, do they? Looking to squeeze some more power out of it until it's paid off, then an engine swap!! Plans for this summer include suspension and a Cobb Tuning stage I power kit.
