Default Can I run TXS stg-2 map with the HKS DP?

I just recently bought a stage 2 unichip, and my mod right now is a custom axle back, HKS downpipe, K&N, just basically the whole txs unichip stg 1 plus the HKS downpipe(still stock mid-pipe).

Will it be better for me to get the chip remapped to stgae 1, or can I run the stg 2 map with my setup above?

Do you still have the stock third cat or an uppipe?

Your right in between stages so I would say that you would be fine with the stage 2 unichip.

The HKS downpipe takes out the last 2 cats, so I only have 1 cat remaining in the stock uppipe.

My setup goes like this.

stock uppipe-----HKS downpipe(removes 2 cats)-----Stock mid-pipe-----Custom 3" axle-back.

and of a course the K&N filter with the silencer hacked.

So, basically I have the whole txs stage-1 kit plus the HKS downpipe.

Can I run the satge 2 map safely?

The TXS unichip stage 2 only consisted of the following:

K&N panel filter, Silencer hack, and the TXS turbo back, unichip stage 2.

NO UPPIPE.

Rated at extra 40+whp??

I am pretty sure with the uppipe you will gain extra ponies, but I am only trying to see if I can use the stage 2 map with my setup above.

Somebody has to know the answer.

I would also like to know this. I am thinking about the same setup my self.
Can somebody answer this for us all!?

Mitsuby: I think you should change the thread to

<<can I use the hks downpipe with a "UTEC" stg 2 map>>

Seriously

I guess peoples don't really care about the unichip anymore, but doesn't vishnu still sell it??

Oh wait! We are still worthy because vishnu still sell the piggyback

TurboXS will still remap unichips for free, and you can buy used unichips fr under 350 now

yes you can...

Stock ECU will pull timing if not optimal and your setup does not deviate too much from TXS setup for stage 2. As long as you did not change out injectors or a larger turbo, you are ok.

I ran my stage 3 on a stage 2 unichip before and nothing bad happened.

Cheers

Nick

Hi,

I know you could with UTEC but you would need to log and see if you get KNOCK at any given point. You would just adjust timing and fuel accordingly to fix this.

In terms of UNICHIP, it is hard to say unless you can log the data to verify that it is in fact working fine. I would guess "YES" but then again you don't have a way to verify or alter the setting for UNICHIP if there are detonation. (But, you can always run the less boost like 16 or 15.5 -- In my opinion, reducing boost a little will give you a better safety margin while jeopardizing a few horse power..)

Dan from PA.

Ok, your even closer to a "true" stage two then I thought.

It will be fine if you run a stage two unichip with what you have.
Turboxs has stage two unichip will be fine for:

down pipe
Hi flow cat/no cat
mid pipe/ stock unit
stock muffler/hi flow muffler.
K&N filter/stock filter
up-pipe/stock unit

If your setup fall within mods then a stage 2 unichip will be fine. Having it tuned is not necessary but it could help get a little more power.

For a utec, if you go catless tuning will be required.

It doesn't matter which down pipe you have...... When it comes down to it, you got rid of one cat and that is all that the map might care about.

Finally I got an answer!!

Thanks alot guys I really appreciate the feedback.

The only thing that I was skeptical about was still having the stock mid-pipe, even though the stock mid-pipe only have the resonator, and not a cat.

I guess I will only run about 15-15.5 psi from the recommended 16.5 for the stage 2 map. Better safe than sorry at least until I can get a new setup, or have a mid-pipe custom made to 3"(since my axle-back, and HKS DP is 3").

Anyway, thanks alot for taking the time to still give this piggybacker feedback
