Question the third tail light in the window

I remember seeing a thread about how to disable the third rear brake light in the window of the car, since the spoiler already lights up. I can't find the old thread though.

How can the light be disabled? I also remember seeing a nice little cover could could purchase if you removed the light completely (also can't find that).

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Easily accessible from inside the trunk. Just look up at the rear shelf from inside the trunk, and you will see the white connector for the wiring. Then just remove the two screws that secure the lamp housing to the shelf. and remove the housing from inside the car.

Instead of a piece of hard plastic I just bought a small piece of grey felt that matches nicely. I just stuffed the felt into the hole left my the housing and flatten it out so it matches, to a cost of $2.00

All you have to do is disconnect the plug in the trunk for the 3rd brake light.

Talk to vendor CC-B. He is the one that sells the 3rd brake light cover. It is going for $20 shipped.

Exactly what I did. Unplugging the connector will have no affect on any other light sources.

As for the light housing itself, it isn't really noticeable if you have your back window tinted. I guess it just depends on how much it bugs you.

yeah, read this thread for more info. I got the cover from CC-B and it's awesome. I'm VERY happy with it.

I was going to do this too till I noticed the spoiler brake light is not very visible from above.. i.e. when some Rig or a big-ass SUV is riding your butt.

I've had SUVs on my tail so close I know they can't possibly see my left and right brake lights over their own hood, and the spoiler light is angled down, so that light int he window is the only thing they'll see.
