I've been so busy with stuff at school I hardly have any time to keep up with the forums. I'm almost embarassed to show myself this late, but thanks Grant for introducing me early on. I hope the Rex is treating you well. I don't know about anyone else, but I can't wait for track season. I'll be at Brainard in May, it'll be great. Well, just was going to say hi.

BIR is not the place for AWD cars. You feel the drivetrain loss hard on the big straight

You gotta get out to the AARRF events in St. Cloud. There's a guy with a black RS who tears up the track with it. And no, it isn't mine; mine will never pass tech

how you been RallyNavvie, haven't talked to you either in a while. Yeah, I'm aware of the shortfalls of the RS on BIR, I had it there last year too. It's fun to run with the E30 M3's around the back, but just have them work you down the straight What I could go for is some more low end torque to push out of the corners, especially three, you whip it around there, put the pedal to the floor and sit while the rev's catch.

And I'll see you guys at the AARRF events again this year. I attended one last season, and frankly was unhappy with how it was run, but its a good group of guys and I'll take every chance I can get to push the limits.

I did meet the other black RS owner there too, very nice guy. Fantastic driver for something thats been reported as being as aerodynamic as a brick.

P.S. If anyone is making the Sport Compact trip to Duluth, let me know on here, seeing how I'm 15 minutes from Spirit and are usually there 2 or 3 times a week
Peace

around apple valley yesterday by the target shopping center?!
(the one with the "SPT" decal all over the car?!)

It was cool of you park right next to my Rally Blue RS, as I was checking your car out this dude came over and said "Cool Cars don't see one of those around alot and seeing two at the same time....cool!!)

Whoever you are COOL RS, and did you install that dig. compass yourself? (I wanted to put one and need some help on it!!) thanx

Beige? Are you sure it wasn't just a really dirty white one? Haven't heard of anyone repainting their car to that color. I don't know of anyone between the local car clubs that owns that car. Wierd...

I was thinking of working the car show this year. I was going to last year but wasn't free the times they needed. I didn't even check this year's schedule Dunno if I'll be there otherwise unless it's confirmed the STi will be there; then I'll probably go with the MNSC folks.

I neglected to ask the Subaru folks in Chicago on Saturday if the STi would make it to the Minneapolis Auto Show. Oops.

But I took nearly 190 pictures, so hopefully there are some winners in there. I only downloaded them from the camera last night, didn't have time to look at them all (except the Vanquish pic...muahaha ) because I had an intercooler hose leak to fix. Around Rockford yesterday my y-pipe worked itself partially off (no thanks to all the bumpy Chicago roads), so I drove the remaining 350+ miles without being able to build more than 3 or 4 psi of boost.

But I got it fixed last night, just had to readjust the hoses at the IC inlets to allow for better fitment with the turbo. I also installed my Samco BOV return hose...which was a major PITA. I hate spring clamps with a passion now.

I'm going to see if Ross (MNSC admin) will let me post the pics on his server. I will have to go through and do some resizing/compression first.

How much space do you need to host those pics?

I wasn't making fun of ya. There just aren't any colors close to beige on an RS. We've had white, silver, black, red, and two types of blue. Personally I like blue ridge pearl. If ever I had to get my car repainted it would totally be that color.

As for the bumpers is there a difference between the 98 and 00? I guess I've never really looked.

Garrett, I was just kidding I could of swear is not any color you describe!! So, it must be a repaint.

The 98RS has the Impreza L bumper (don't know why subaru did this) I'll try to scan my car in tonight tho.

Hey Fuji, are you really 17yr? But anyway, thanx for the help
but the bumper kit I didn't win (ebay auction) But anyway,
I am looking around for those parts but when I do I ll let you know

So, nobody here know any good body shop around that will paint my bumper (once I get them?)

John, yes, I'm just 17. Look on my profile if you want.

There's ABRA Auto Body and Glass in Midway. They do powder coat paint...i forgot how they say that but it's powder paint. It get powdered on the part you want then they heat it up. My older brother took his Ivan S. bumper cover, and fender flares to Abra in Midway of St. Paul to get the parts painted. It looks great! It was for his Toyota Tundra. The shop is near me, a short bike ride away.

I burned them on to a CD last night and gave them to Rick to deliver to Ross today. It was about 98MB worth of pics I think...but again, I didn't bother to do any resizing or compressing. All I know is that the Vanquish is going to be wallpaper for a while.

Speaking of Blue Ridge Pearl...I saw somewhere else on this site that Subaru ditched BRP for some new color like Pacifica Blue Pearl...is that the same as those blue Foresters? It would be a shame to see the end of BRP...

Werd, BRP rocks! My fav car color is British Racing Green though. I just don't think it would look good on an Impreza. A Legacy sedan maybe, but not the Impreza.

I think MNSC has more bandwidth that I do at my website. If you needed I could have hosted them there. You could have also contaced Jesse Mullan about hosting them.

For body work on any Subaru I would only go to Morrie's Bodyworks in Brooklyn Park. They've done 2 different repair jobs on each of the Imprezas I've owned and did a fantastic job. If you're using OEM parts I would definitely go with them. They offered to put a hood scoop on my 96 Impreza L and match the paint since I had to get a whole new hood. It was going to cost a few hundred more but it would have been a good deal. I never got a chance to put the turbo kit in it though so I'm glad I didn't put the scoop on. Turbo kit had a FMIC anyway.

OK....now I'm pretty certain that I've seen your car before, John...I live right by Lake Harriet (44th and Upton). The one time I drove past your car I waved and you didn't wave back. What's up with that??

Well that's a bit of an overstatement. My car is just like every other blue WRX except for a few exterior bits. It's slow too...at least until this goes in....
