another +1 for the hellas yesterday as some old man in a truck tried to not just cut me off in the left lane, but turn into me. i scared him so much that he literally was driving 20 car lengths behind me while we were doing 30-40 on 93N headed to the RT. 3 split.

and the whole time after, all i could think was, man i can't wait to install a 2nd set of hellas!

I really want some loud ass horns on my car. I've heard the hella's and yeah, they are loud, but they arn't deep enough or scary enough for me. I want like a mini train horn or something without the hassle of adding a air tank.

Would that not still require a air tank of some sort? I want to avoid all that...

people do that anyways with hellas. Will, stop regurgitating what you see other people do!

and yes, any form of "air" horn will require a tank. i use to have some that ran off a little electric air compressor. sounded like absolute ****. if you want the real deal, you gotta add a belt-driven pulley to power a serious compressor.

Do they make any "regular" horns like Hella's but louder, when I've heard the hella's they are loud, but it's a like a high pitched duck or something...I want a horn that gets attention, but I'm not going to be embarrased about hearing.

Don't get me wrong, I like the hella's I just don't like the sound all that much for me...

i'm sure something out there exists, but you'll probably pay a good bit more for the results you're looking for. also, you have to keep in mind that it takes a lot more power to create the same perceived sound level the lower you go in frequency. (i.e. a 10 watt tweeter might make 110 decibles where as it would take 50 watts for a subwoofer to do that)

another option would just be to get the lower frequency horns. each hella set comes with a 300Hz and a 500Hz horn. this means you would have to find them used, or by 2 sets and then not use 2 of the horns...

Dear Pimped out, riced out, what ever the eff you want to call your car out,

I appreciate you acknowledging that I have a nice STi, it was clean and shiny and apparently goes fast, but there is no need to be embarrased when your Chrysler 300C Hemi with 40 inch rims body kit and subs that I could hear over my exhaust at 70 as you rolled up with no shirt, smirking thinking that you were hot shiz.

I would NOT like to apologize for downshifting into 4th gear and continuing to eat my Whopper while you left in the dust, after numerous attempts to try to get me to speed up and race you. Have a nice day, find a shirt - I am going to guess it will be a pink polo and you will pop it.

Sincerely,
The Burger King.

Dear sir that works at the RMV registry building,

I know that you think you're the cat's meow driving your blacked out charger with the blinged out wheels and exhaust on the V-6.

When you try to get around me in a single left turning lane on the right side, and then proceed to turn around me on a left red arrow, which I was waiting for like a normal rule abiding citizen its not cool. Amazingly, the light turned green at the same time.
I ask you, sir, how loud was my turbo spooling up right next to your illegally tinted half opened window, followed by the sound of my exhaust reveberating off of the bridge abutments as you feebily tried to get your dubs to hook up and keep your pride in tact?

You sir, of all people, should know how and why they make traffic signals on roads as you work for the Commonwealth's Registry of Motor Vehicles. I would appreciate it if you especially would take your job to heart and not crap all over it by driving like a complete bonehead.

Thank you and have a wonderful sunny day!

Kindly,
The guy that works in the building next to you and completely enjoyed putting you in your place.

Dear guy in the Blue 06/07 wrx on michigan ave around 11:30 pm last night

Don't be such a f*#^ing tool. It really was not necessary to blast by me doing 65 in a 35 so i could hear your exhaust and your atmospheric BOV. I was not amused in the least. I did get a kick, however when we came up to a stop light and all i could hear was the CLANK CLANK CLANK CLANK of one of your pistons smashing into the cylinder head as your engine idled. As the light turned green and you launched your car as if we were at the dragstrip, and then veered off onto a residential side street at 55+ with tires squealing, i just hoped that one of the 3 cops leaving the police station at that moment had seen your mad skillz. I dont know if any of them did, but a ****bag like you deserves to get ticketed.

Sincerely,

The guy in the 02 wagon with 2 passengers in the back who were also laughing at you

P.S. turn down whatever that horrible music was, and turn your hat forwards and bend the damn bill. you look like a retard, and your driving confirms you are one.

Dear silver G35 coupe driver on 290 last night,

Hey looky, you have a fast car, I know my set cruise control at 72mph was a bit intimidating, a race down the Worcester Highway would have certainly proven your vast superiority on the tarmac of one of Eisenhower's greatest accomplishments.

When I didn't look over, honk, wave, change lanes, speed up, slow down ... one would have thought you may have taken a hint, but no, you proceeded to cut 3 lanes across my back bumper, then cut me off with another 3 lane maneuver. Apparently you must have an alignment problem you're trying to work out, that might explain all the weaving, or possibly under the influence? Pacing me for the next 2 miles or so before my exit was also very classy, if I didn't race you the first 3 miles, I'm not sure why you thought these would be different.

Oh and my pregnant wife thinks your a tool-bag too.

Dear red Crown Vic driver (old-school green Mass license plate # 360 NCW),

You should think twice about driving an ex-cop car with lots of antennas on the windows and trunks, riding peoples' asses and then flashing the lights when somebody gets on your tail. First off - that's illegal. Second of all - some people carry cellphones with the Massachusetts State Police programmed in it.

So, when I called the Worcester troop when you were passing Holy Cross on I-290 and then you got tailed from the Allmerica building by a trooper before finally getting pulled over - know that that was me that busted your ass.

Man, I've got a few months of these stored up, I should post here more regularly.

Dear chick in the mustang,
The point of driving on the highway is to get where you're going faster, not almost drive off the road because you're on your cellphone. GTFO of the left lane.

Dear Massachusetts, thank you for FINALLY repaving 95 between the RI border and 295. There should not be large sections of missing asphalt 3 inches deep. The weave area at 123 was particularly bad. It shouldn't feel like a damn rally stage.

Dear old people,
GTFOff the roads, seriously.

Dear stupid **** in the Solara,
Red light means "****ing Stop", not "Cut off the guy with the green light as you take a right that you aren't supposed to"

Dear Counterfit,
Don't get so damn obsessed with flipping off the **** in the Solara that you almost run a red light yourself, douchenozzle.

Dear TSX drivers,
WTF is wrong with so many of you? TURN OFF YOUR GODDAMN HIGH BEAMS!

Dear various dumbasses, idiots, and ****faces,
1) The left lane is the PASSING lane, so pass someone, or move the **** over.
2) ****ing check your mirrors and blind spot (not the one caused by your hand holding your cellphone to your head) before you attempt to merge onto the highway at 35mph.
3) On ramps are for accelerating up to speed so you can merge easily. MAKE USE OF THIS, ****ERS.

Dear silver LGT Driver, VT plate "FORCEFED",

At least I think that was what your plate said as you broke double yellow to pass me at nearly double the speed limit, less then 100 yards from the blind crest of the hill we were climbing. Good thing nobody came over the hill in the other direction, that could have been dangerous!

Don't take this the wrong way, but me and my wife were hoping to find you flipped in a ditch further up the road. We would have honked as we passed.

Dear guy in black chevy
Blaring your horns for no reason will get you nowhere on rt 18 becase people like me will just slow to a crawl and stop you from passing me everytime the lane splits in 2 and re-merges again. I wished the police were around to pull you over while you kept the horns going for the 5 miles you've followed me down the street.

^That is so true with the amount of Mustangs out here. And also I rented an 2004 v6 automatic once. I mean I swear my 04 STi has more oomph than what I had rented. And maybe because it was a rental, but I wasn't impressed...for a Mustang
