Right now I have a JC Sports Intake with an MRT vent scoop directing cold air on it
My main Questions was that with the scoop on some rain water will be falling onto the top of the cone air filter... Is this a major problem if the filter gets wet? How could I protect it better? Would a Pre-filter from ISR help?

Probably not a huge problem if it is just a drip, but I would play it safe and try to manufacter something to alter the course of the drop away from the filter

Not a problem at all. Obviously the filter wont flow quite as good as it would dry. But that's not nearly enough water to hydrolock your engine or anything. It's really not much different than water injection if you think about it. Harmless.

Well right now I have a plastic piece bent around the cone filter to protect it from the water (being in the Northwest you have to figure in that it will be raining alot)
Another concern would be that the plastic catching on fire from the heat of the engine, but it just seems like it gets flimsy Thanks |

I highly doubt the plastic would catch on fire from the heat. If it did, then they wouldn't use plastic for all the intake tubing. As far as water getting on the cone filter: I have a similar set up with the bonnet scoop dumping air directly on the filter. The only thing that I notice is that the filter gets dirty really quick. I'im not even worried about my engine sucking up enough water to hurt it.
