Question oil leak-bottom timing cover

I have oil leaking from the bottom of where the black plastic (timing?) cover meets the aluminum. There appears to be a gasket between these two surfaces, but is there supposed to be oil inside there? or is it leaking from somewhere else? It's a pretty big leak that started after I changed the oil and performed a tune up.

I also have another very small leak from the front of the head, the oil leaks down and around onto the exhaust flange bolt.

Thanks,
-Gronemeyer

Question

The dreaded oil pump problem? Please tell me more.

I was just looking at a shop manual. Looks like the plastic timing cover also covers the oil pump assembly.

So, are you telling me the oil inside the timing cover is leaking from the oil pump?
