Question What brand of gasoline do you use and why?

I'm partial to Sunoco because:

My dealer said stay away from Hess, Citgo and Mobil and there really isn't much else around here.

I stay away from the "unknown" brands like Fastrac, Kwik Fill, BJs and the local station with no name at all on the pumps because I have no idea what I'm getting.

I have never had any problem with gas I bought at a Sunoco station (can't say that about anyone else)

Sunoco was the major sponsor of the late Mark Donahue, one of my favorite race drivers.

The Sunoco place gives out free car wash tokens with every fill up.

and it's the cheapest in town

So how about you?

I use Chevron when I can because I like it's additives. I also use 76 and Mobil. Other than that, I don't use much

Mobil, because i knew a Mobil QA person who had a very small area and tested all the Mobil stations in it (dummy tanks in a minivan). if a Mobil station's gas ever doesn't pass muster, the station looses it's Mobil franchise.

I like Sunoco gas the best, but I usually end up getting Amoco, just because it is very convenient.

I have had bad experiences with Citgo. Once I used Citgo in my car and got about 15 MPG and had very uneven idle. The local Citgo station is a little shady, so I don't know if you could conclude that all Citgo gas is bad.

I also use Sheetz gas a lot. Sheetz is a convenience store in this area, but they are EXTREMELY busy and sell lots of gas (mainly because you can't beat their prices). I would say it is just as good as Sunoco. My car seems to like it.

76 - it's the only local gas without MTBE in it.

Moto Mart brand, well, because, it's cheap and the old Legacy isn't too discriminating.

IIRC, Sunoco is owned by the same company as Citgo...and that Citgo gas is the same as Sunoco.

Here in New York, Sunoco sells 94.

And IIRC there's also 93 as well, i.e. four grades. Not bad choices.

Mobil, my parents have had problems with their cars when they use other stuff, and I had a problem because I used a Hess a few months ago.

Mobil... mostly because their stations seem to be cleaner and have newer equipment, so I (probably incorrectly) assume their tanks are cleaner. Also, they tend to have working air pumps.

Oh, and Speed Pass is oh-so nice when it's cold out so I don't have to get out my wallet, and I also have a %3 discount on Mobil gas through one of their credit cards.
