Thumbs up Just got back from WestEnd Alignment! Absolutely Amazed!

Darin the owner is great!

I made an appointment last Thurs. for today and when I arrived I only waited less than 5 min.

He was very professional, worked fast, and he was insisting that it be absolutely perfect.

At first he asked what my driving style was and what I hoped to do. I described my situation and where I wanted to be and he then went on to describe what changes he might do.

He took baseline measurements then proceded with the alignment.

I test drove it just twice and I thought I was being a little anal and was now feeling a little guility but Darin insisted that his job was to make it perfect and he insisted that I tell him how it drove.

I have a wagon and I am thrilled with it all over again! It's like a new car. It's just that profound of a difference with a very good performance alignment!

I have whiltline flatout springs, rear sway @ 22mm, 225/45/17's and after my tire install the other jerks (NOT Darin) did such a lousy job I didn't want them touching my car. It HAD zero toe and camber up front and 1.7 neg cam in back. Turn in was slow, I couldn't force the rear out, and I had no control at the limit. It just drifted all 4-no understeer and no oversteer.

Now I am at 1/16" toe out (total) & 1 degree neg cam. up front. In rear it's at zero toe and stil 1.7 neg camber.
Absolutely amazing, Turn in is better, return to center-much better, and now it just tracks like it's on rails (excuse the overly used phrase) and oversteer can be induced with control and no surprises at the limit.

2nd best thing about it was that I was there for less than 2 hrs. and his prices are more than fair (read...cheap)!

Right as I was paying Darin the next guy waiting had an S2000. Darin is getting great referrals from Suby guys and the S2000 crew.

my setups a bit different, but yeah, car feels great. I will even say that Darin, and the rest of his family that was there helping out, even asked us if we wanted to order lunch from the place they were ordering from! Thats cool!

Yep, Darin is a great guy and very skilled at what he does. I got my car aligned/corner weighed about a month ago, and the car handles great!

Hey Jay, give Darin a call as custom jobs require custom quotes. And they definitely do lowered cars!

Great guy! I knew him from WAY back from when he was at
Johnson's alignment. Basic cost for a 4 wheel alignment is $85.

You look at Darren's shop and can tell he does Quality work. All the tools are organized and you could eat off the shop floor. He definantly fits the Pirsig definition of Quality.

Got my car aligned and corner weighed. It handles better and I can make the turns a little faster now. Darin is a great guy, he even treated me shaved ice. Btw, he wants to thank you all and say hi to everyone.

Default aligned

A properly aligned car is fast and easy to drive - maybe that's why we spent so much time testing in the sports racer. Here is one for you. putting 1/16 toe in the rear reduced the power oversteer on corner exit enough to drop lap times 6 tenths of a second.
It's nice to see there are still shops that service entusiasts.

Hey Walter,

Glad to hear that you like West End/Darin's work & service. I wanted to get my car aligned there but didn't have enough time before I moved back to N. Cal. I've actually been meaning to get down there to visit and stop by West End. Mmmm, shaved ice sounds good--the Hawaiian style not the Taiwanese one...I like that kind too though.

See ya,

CL

p.s. I've seen pics of your car w/the new wheels & wing....looking SWEET!!

he's pretty flexible.... but make sure you tell him what kind of job you need.

I did mine the same day as Walters... for the 2nd time.

I had springs before and went to him for alignment, car sure handled a LOT better afterwards.....

this 2nd time i went back after i slapped on some coilovers and MAN!! does my car feel like a new car after the corner weight balance and alignment. My car feels a LOT neutral and easier to toss around...
