All right I am in the middle of my Txs stg. 4 install and have some questions.
1) As per Txs instructions I inplugged the green wire harness in the passenger footwell. This is too disable the fuel pump so that the fuel system can be depressurized. BUT the engine never turned over and stalled like they said it would in the instructions. It didn't even sound like the engine turned over, it just made so really fast clicking noises. any comments? 2) I am doing the drivers side fuel injectors first. The Txs instructions says there are 5 bolts on the rail cover but I can only find 3??? 3) Any tips or tricks for reinstalling the intercooler. It was a major PITA before and I know there has to be some type of trick. Any other advice is appreciated!!! TIA

1. You should be fine. The ticking is just the engine trying to fire up.
2. No idea since I haven't done this. 3. Try to get the turbo outlet on first, then pop the throttle body section on. Or even better, get Samco hoses. ![]() Calvin |

Calvin thanks for the reply.
***- I found the missing bolt for the drivers side fuel rail guard (the green misery as I call it). BUT there is a hose fitting welded to the back of it (closest to the firewall). What do I do with this? It doesn;t feel like it has any pressure in it so I might disconnect it but I would love to know what it is first. Anyone? |

I only remember 4 bolts for the green bracket on the driver side: one in the front, two down below and one way back low between the block and firewall. The tube is for the cam cover breather hose. Just reconnect it when you put the bracket back on.
Don't be tempted to leave the brackets off as they are there for a very good reason. Without them, an oblique head-on crash (common) will shear off your fuel system and spray your hot engine with fuel. Bad juju. Mitch |

Also thanks to Jim at Platinum Performance (who BTW has been there to answer all of my silly questions) I figured out that by battery was almost dead. I think I left a map light on. I jumped the car off of my Jetta and was able to get it to turn over and purge the pressure in the fuel system.
