The MY99-pre Imprezas are electronically speed limited as well as DRAG limited.

I don't think any RS's are speed limited electronically.

I know of both 98's and 99's that have hit the 120mph mark. My 00 has gone past 112mph as well.

I know my old MY00 could go faster than the speedos 120 mph with a few bolt-ons.

I've broken 120 in my MY01 stock... just takes a little while.

Side note: 95 civics, on the other hand, are speed limited at 120

This is what I heard at our Maryland meet this weekend between Pipercub and a few others. He has a turbo'd MY99 RS.

"At 145 MPH I was at redline."

At 120mph in 5th gear I was at a little under 5k rpm, so I still had quite a ways to go...All with a Ganzflow, Amsoil filter & an Apexi N1 w/ custom 2.25" catback pipe.

I've had my needle wrapped way past the 120 mark, so either my speedo is broken or there isn't a limiter on my '98.

Gtbguy - Maybe the Canadian versions are electronically limited, but the US MY98 is not. The drag limit in the US MY98 is just under 130mph, when calculated from the tach.

Did 6200rpm with the speedometer dead center of the "mileage" digital screen. That must had been 135ish...
No limiter for >00....112mph for <00

Everybody here seems to have broken 120 or so in their RS. So I guess they're not limited. I know mine isn't.

In my 99 Rs I had it pind past 120mph. I had some bolt on's took a while to get there but it did get there.

I now have a 2002 WRX and I had it at 140mph last night and it was still pulling??....I read they were limeted at 130mph, guess that is not true........
<disclamer>
I in no way condone or support this kind of speed on a public hyw.
Sorry for the spelling..

I agree, I only did it to see if it did in fact have a limiter...

I'd like to get rid of the rev limiter too. I hate it when I am not paying attention and hit the limiter at 6,300 in 5th...

Anyone got a TEC II for under $1K ??
