Question MY00 RS Knock Sensor

Does anyone know if it is possible to disable the knock sensor in there RS?

just a genuine question why would you want to? are you gonna put in a aftermarket knocksensor system and want to turn off the factory?

bruno, the knock sensor sences detonation and retards the timing if need be. It's a safeguard.

Why would you want to disable it? In any case, if you just unplugged it, the car will run like crap.

there is kinda a big debate over exactly what a knock sensor is good for.. I think some cars need them more than others..
I would definitly leave it enabled on out motors

but just as something to think about...

JDM honda motors will run without Knock sensors
and run very very well..

So if I unplug the knock sensor the car will run like crap. I thought the knock sensor was a fail safe for a bad tank of gas or something. Would it be possible for the knock sensor to interpret engine or car vibrations as knocking? And if so would unplugging it have a negative effect on your engine
