I have a S.S. Single Tip. It doesn't look as cool as the dual tip, but the power difference is insignificant.

The only problem with the Stromung is that it looks like the piping isn't really stainless steel because it looks just like the rest of the exhaust system. Rusty colored. The muffler is the tip are S.S. except for the edge of the tip.

Other than that, I like my exhaust.

Have you heard the Stromung on a car that was sitting still, or did you take it for a real-world drive? I ask because I purchased a beautiful dual-tip stainless version and then sold it immediately thereafter. The problem? The off-idle booming and off-throttle loudness at normal highway speeds was just not bearable. I wanted some sound, but needed it to be liveable for a 100 mile daily commute. Not to mention coming home in the evening through the streets of a quiet historic district. Awesome looks and great build quality, but give me something quieter!

Accurit,
You might want to consider having a resonator installed along with your muffler if you go the catback route. IIRC Pam from ISR had one and much like aowRS, she didn't like the drone of her's either, but she did have an auto Forester and that might make a small difference. I'm getting my Rallispec 2.25 catback which comes standard with a resonator sometime this week and will try to keep you posted on how I like it. The muffler is shown on their website Rallispec Rallispec , but Dave can put any size tip on their if you just ask. Mine is gonna be a 4" tip, probably not what you want, but with a Forester I don't think that it'll look too big.

I love my Stromung single tip.

I got it from gtguy who is getting a WRX. He had the tip lengthened by Stromung to clear the rear bumper a little bit better on the wagons so it isn't boomy inside.

With the stock midpipe this exhaust sounds great. It is not over-the-top and I don't even notice it anymore unless the windows are rolled down.

It sounds great and there is no way it would set off car alarms.

It also doesn't burble or backfire. I wouldn't mind some burble/pops though.

It also is smaller than the factory exhaust and gives me some more ground clearance in the back.

I have a cheap "turbo" muffler and it sounds deep. It's loud and drones a bit. It will set off car alarms. You could of course have any tip you wanted put on it.

That's interesting. My car always backfires when off-throttle w/ my Stromung. And, it sets off car alarms all the time.

Ok, no one knows about apex'i?

I bought an apexi N1 canister for $200 (the N/A version) from www.modacar.com.
Then I paid some shop of rednecks to bend me a cat-back pipe for $70 (including installation of the muffler).

WOT is LOUD, crusing sound is tolerable & highway driving is VERY VERY VERY quiet for a PREFORMANCE muffler. I even had them remove my stock resonator. Power has also increased.

PM me if you have any questions...as you can see I LOVE my set-up .

I installed the Stromung Dual-Tip last week. I was really worried at first, because there are people who say its too loud and irritating in the cabin. But after driving it for a week, its not too loud or irritating. The sound is definitely louder, though sometimes I worry that people will mistake the exhaust note for a Honda.

Noticed a loss in the low-end, but it seems to pull 50 to 75 mph a lot quicker now. Might just be a placebo effect.

I got a Hayame muffler and got a custom 2.25" mid-pipe. No resonator and it's pretty loud. Annoyingly loud? Not in my opinion. Haven't gotten a ticket for it yet *knock on wood* and I doubt I will. It's a deep rumble that seems to intimidate people. I don't get people revving or trying to race me as much as before. Wanna know more, pm me .

My single tip must be quieter than yours. I am also running the stock midpipe which is pretty restrictive.

I drive like a frickin maniac and rev up to redline quite a bit.

Of course, this is an automatic tranny which might have something to do with it. But I've revved up pretty high in 2nd gear and while the exhaust is loud (sounds great) I haven't set off any alarms and I don't think I would.

I love mine. Not too loud, not ricey... very deep sound.

I have the Apex N1 catback and it sounds lovely... Get compliments all the time that it sounds deep and throaty, not like a Honda fart pipe. Got pics if you wanna see them...
