Post I still don't get this P1 craze but here's something for you Prodrive fans

<IMG SRC="http://www.prodrive-japan.com/imag/gc7c-ph.jpg" border=0>
This is the new GC07 wheel from Prodrive Japan. Available in gold, silver or gun matal. I like these MUCH better than the old P1 wheels. Here's another one:

The ones on top look a lot like the Prodrive Sevens made by Speedline.

The first ones come in 17x7 with a +48 offset, but the Yen to US dollar conversion puts them at $514 each. If anyone think of any way to get them here cheaper I would be in for a set.

Those are so sweeeet looking! Do they offer 16x7s? Price? I would check out the site but it would take forever for my computer to download the Japanese/English conversion software. Thanks for the help.

From what I can see on the site, the top ones only come in 17 and 18 inch sizes. The bottom ones come in 15,16,17,and 18 inch sizes, but only the 17 and 18 inch sizes come in the correct bolt pattern.

I don't think there is a P1 'craze' because they are such good looking wheels. They are one of the only rims available that come in the correct offset for our cars. Also, I'm guessing those rims you posted are probably twice as expensive.

Well, Volk and Advan both have plenty of wheels in the right size for Subarus and they are much lighter and stronger than the OZ's to boot. Yes a little more money but well worth it IMO. That being said, I saw a set of gun metals on a red 2.5 today and they did look pretty good.

He he. I do like them a bit more now but still too heavy. Aren't the SSR Type C about same price and lighter? They look great Safir, I guess I'm just a weight reduction freak.

I thought the 17" OZ Prodrives were around 17.5 pounds? That seems very decent to me. Still not as light as the Volks as you point out, but still better than most.

The 17 inch P1 weighs 19.5 lbs. Confirmed from OZ dealer and SPDUSA.
I actually like the GC-05s better, because the GC-07 looks just like the ones SPD sells.
I'm waiting for the SSR comp from tirerack. Forged 17X7.5 50mm 5x100, 15 lbs!

...and Rallispec, and a board member who weighed a P1 says that they weigh 17.5 lbs each. There's not a definitive answer on the P1 wheel weight, or even if earlier ones are lighter for some reason.

I'm trying to get my buddy to weigh one of his before he mounts his tires. I'll keep y'all posted.

I just know that it's lighter than my stock Legacy GT wheel, according to the arm dyno.
