Hopefully they'll just weld the stock one on and save people the trouble of going aftermarket and then switching back in a few months.

Well, since no one on this board, or even this planet for that matter, owns (or has even tested) a 2004 USDM WRX Sti I am not sure what you really expected for an answer.

i found that this board is full of smart asses lately, you can't ask a question these days anymore without some one being a d**k, if your post is not usefull then why post at all.

anyways, to answer your question rexwag, it seems the sti intercooler is the same of the previous sti's. iv'e seen people use the type h blow off vavle on the sti intercooler, if you look closely at the pics of the engine at all the auto show post you can see that the B.O.V is the same , so im pretty sure it will fit and if it doesnt.....its not like you cant sell it

You know why people are like that? Because it's quite common knowledge that a blow off valve change of any sort has no performance benefit and actually will make most cars run worse unless you're not using an Mass Airflow sensor anymore. What the answer should have been was probably, but why would you want to? Just get a fake one if all you want is the noise... your car will run better

Will my LED washer nozzels fit?

True, but the original poster didn't say, "I want to make my car run better, can I put this BOV on?"

He asked a question. He didn't ask if it would help performance. Considering the hp rating of the car, the few hp that he would lose with a BOV wouldn't make the STi perform much worse (unless you're truly doing timed runs). Tons of people with WRXs have aftermarket BOVs. They are mistaken if they think it helps their car, but if they're doing it to enjoy their car more, then is it that hard to give someone an actual answer to their question?

Not so much that he would lose hp but it would just run crappy... and ya im sure you could make it fit... you could make anything fit with enought money.

I still think they are a lame idea... the amusement of the noise gets old after 3 or 4 cops pull you over for it.

BOV noise is not illegal...just thought you show know that.
(check with your local ordinances...they may say otherwise).

if a car can have a WOO WOO, it can have a loud blow off valve.
--check www.bubbrubb.com for more details.

Depending on your state, BOV's are illegal. Not the noise, but it's the releasing of the gas to the atmosphere that's illegal. It's taking compressed exhaust gasses and releasing it to the atmosphere without going through the cats. That's what's illegal about them (atmosphere-venting ones... ie, the ones that make the sounds).

It's a state-by-state thing. Most of the time you probably won't be bothered by it, but also, any extra noise that catches a cop's attention is just that .... one more thing that gets you attention

Your turbo must work different than any other turbo in production today. The gas that is realeased is....................intake air. Turbos don't charge the exhaust gas, those are just used to spool the turbo. It only messes with your air fuel ratio. Cops love external BOVs too.

mbiker is right it is compressed intake airthat is released, not exaust gas.. that is a external waste gate you are thinking about

aftermarket blow-off valve

When you absolutely, positively have to let the children in the car next to you know that you have an ego problem!
