The new body styles are susposed to come out in April. Me thinks the STI will be in by MAY/June/July. Has anyone else noticed that the dealerships are starting to clear out the 03's with 0.9% financing? I am going to be with out a subie until the STI comes out. Sold my rex to my bro. Maybe he'll let me drive it every now and then. (Heck, I let him test drive it before he bought it )

My dealer says that SOA hasn't given them a specific date on STi's yet, but the rest of the lineup is coming end of April, early May, and he speculates that the STi will start in June.

So, you have monkeys fly out of your a$$ occasionally?

Income taxes are killing us this year (DINK, no deductions, rent our place), which takes us out of the STi game until next year. But, if it's at 30K this year, I might have to make it work. I'd guess that MSRP would go up from there starting with the '05.

How close was motor trend on predicting the WRX price or the EVO price? Just wondering how good their inside info is.

Don't count on the STi's arrival dropping the WRX price. If you want a low WRX price, you'll have to get a 2003. Now if the STi was like $28k and all the dealers got like 5 per week, then maybe you can more easily work a deal on a WRX. But you better believe that thwy won't be ordering a ton of 04 WRX's until all of the 03's are gone. So there won't be a lot of 03's on the lot anyway. Basically, if you have your heart set on a 04 WRX for a low price, you'll more than likely have to wait til next year. But who knows......

Thumbs down

Your subject heading is a troll.

At the very least it should have had a question mark in there.

I'm looking to get a 03 WRX when the 04' WRX STi comes out so that way I can get the 03 WRX for a lower price.
I believe it has already effected prices. Notice that Subaru is giving 0.9% financing on all '03 models. Of course, dealer's should be even more anxious to get rid of '03s once the '04s come out. How long you wait is up to you. If your local dealer has plenty of cars on the lot you probably have a little time.

Current financing offers do not reflect any influence from the STi's imminent arrival.

0.9% financing is only for two-year loans.

I would only expect Subaru to drop the 03 model prices around the end of march to get rid of them for the new 04 models...

1. I doubt you would see ANY price drop on a WRX and

2. they have already put up the prices on everything anyway

I just got a reply from SOA today (02/05/03) and this is what he said:

"I have been advised that the 2004 WRX STi models should be arriving at Subaru dealerships in June. We do not yet have pricing information and I am not aware of when it will be available. I can only recommend that you check up with your
dealer or us in the future."

I would bet money that if a dealer has 03's left when the 04's arrive, they will be discounted. If not, how would they sell them when the 04's look better?
