Default Keyless entry

My MY02 TS (canadian ver.) came without the keyless entry. (Not sure if the us ver. has this kit as standard)

My question is:
How difficult would it be to say pick one up from a wrx & drop it in my TS, is it a plug & play set up?
This option is offered at the dealership for around $1000.00 cad, so I am assuming that the car is all pre-wired.

Thanks

K

i'd bet you can do it fairly easily. it should be mostly pre wired. you would have to get the modules and stuff then put them in. talk to the dealer and find out what the list price of the parts are. if you're still interested, see if you can find the installation instructions somewhere, then if it doesn't look too hard, get the parts and go for it.

yeh,

I would have to find one from a wrecked wrx or rs,
since I don't see why people would want to get rid of them!
So, since I have power locks, then I would need the module(transmitter) & the remote.
Now, how would I program the remote?

Thanks

If you've got power locks, then all you should need is the keyless module, and the remote controls. That should be quite easy to install. The Service Manual shows very little else that could be needed if the full power lock system is installed.

Just came back from the dealership, this is a 30min. job for them!(all pre-wired)
I can only assume this is too easy!

Now I got to find one!

Anyone?

Thanks
