Default help with Autometer A/F Guage install

Help, I have a quick question. I have searched and found out where to install and how to install this gauge. I have done so and need to connect the purple wire. However I was wondering, everyone says to hook up the purple wire up to pin location to white wire B17 (on 02WRX). My question is in the diagram I was looking at, it shows the signal for the REAR o2 sensor as B17 but for the front o2 sensor it has no signal listed. Do they both send a signal to B17? And is it OK to tap into the white wire near the CPU? Or should I tap into the wire near the O2 sensor? I don’t see the latter happening because I will not know the wire from the O2 sensor. I was thinking I would want the reading from the front o2 sensor since the Exhaust Gas has not yet gone through the Cats yet though?

Well if you did any kind of search before purchasing that guage you would know it is pretty much worthless. You would need to a wideband gauge which is $$$ for the front sensor. You can only tap into the rear sensor with the gauge you have.

Well I have a Turbo XS Up-pipe on order and I will be ordering a Cat less Downpipe soon so when those go on I will not have to worry about the cats. What is the difference between Regular and a Wideband O2 Sensor?

I didn’t think I deserved a good flaming but I got one anyways…sheesh. Thanks for the help sorry to waste YOUR time.

I made the same mistake and Autometer knew nothing. Well one thing you can do is sell the guage on ebay or something. The other thing you can do is put another O2 sensor on the downpipe. If you plan on doing this just take your downpipe to a muffler shop have them weld in a O2 sensor bong (that is not like a water bong, just kidding) then hook up a 2 wire O2 sensor (say something off a older GM). Keep the stock O2 sensor hooked up just use the new one just for the guage.
