we don't monitor anything here

we do block pr0n, and web-based email, though, as a safeguard against viruses.

Funny that you posted this...
The other day I was posting in the thread about collant (http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...hreadid=311251)
and all of a sudden a user name 'St. Francis' posted (St. Francis hospital is where I work) and referenced a co-worker who had been fired the day before to me...

I know it pissed me off... I usually put in 1 to 1.5 hours of OT a day. That day and since I havn't felt like helping them out at all...
I feel so violated..
eh whatever they are probaly watching me type this right now :monkey:

I got busted for surfing too much...

I thought I was all safe and snuggly in my I.T. bubble when my boss sent me an email with my usage for a couple consecutive Fridays...

Oops, I was on all day... I won't be around so much anymore...

If you ever have kids and one of them when he's eight years old accidentally sets fire to the living room rug, go easy on him.

Depending on the control you have over your work computer, there are ways to find out if they are watching... a nice simple easy way is to go to a command prompt (Windows OS)

type netstat -a

That will show all connections and listening ports. If you type netstat /? it will give you a wide range of parameters to run on network ports...

Its a nice start...if you have any questions about what comes up...pm me...I'll help ya out.

Some will be legitamate...like AIM or servers your connected to, but others may be them listening....

no "command prompt" or "run" command here at my office....

we took all that away from the users....

gotta love group policy....

plus....

i installed a internet monitoring software at my sis's lawfirm...for them...

i was amazed at what it could do....besides block websites

it could...monitor what websites the user is on or attempted to get to....how long they spent...

pretty neat....and it is able to montior and work w/ active directory
