Default Age of people that dislike the STi's Spoiler

I am 22 and think it is bad ass. IMO it is supposed to be there and look sweet as hell. But what about those that [edit] don't like it?

Everyone, please don't turn this into a flame war.

I am just curious if there is any trend in age of the people who [edit] don't like the spoiler.

Thanks,
~ Joe

Hate is an awfully strong word. I don't actively hate it. I'd just prefer something more subdued. I suspect that is the case for many.

I echo this sentiment. That said, I would probably keep it if there is no delete option.

Dido that above comment too. I don't hate it, but.........
I am a "wing type" person too. I think it just adds something to the car......sometimes it can adds just a little too much though.....
At least it is functional. If it wasn't......ba bye.

41 and I think it's silly. Then again, I'm excited by, and waiting for, the STi Forester, so what do I know?

33 and I don't like it. Love the car but not keen on the spoiler. Would prefer subtlety and understated elegance. If you have it and you know it, why flaunt it? As I said, love the car and will purchase but will have to learn to deal with the wing.

Yeah too bad so few can afford an Sti.

I am 27 and I don't hate the STi wing, but I don't think it is tastefull. It is not the size, I am just not a fan of the double deck boxy style. Would it stop me from buying one, hell no. If I could afford the Sti I would learn to love that wing.

I'm 30 and I think the wing looks positively ridiculous. C'mon, if any of you saw that wing on any other car you'd bust out laughing. Admit it.

30 here and I'll reserve ultimate judgement until I see it in person. In pictures the scoop and wing seem to compliment each other--it is balanced in a way. But no, there aren't too many cars with wings like that around! Will that keep me from getting one? Not a chance.

This poll is worthless, if more old people hate the spoiler than young people, it only proves that more older people may have read the message.

There should be a new poll that you select age and whether you like or dislike the spoiler. Then we can really see if spoiler dislike has any correlation to age.

The spoiler fits the car perfectly. It's an STi. It has a huge spoiler. So what? We are getting an STi that is WAY beyond our expectations so be happy with it!

And for my opinion, I'm 31 and it's perfect for the car. See it in person and you'll understand.

For Grand Turismo or actual racing events, with a logo here and there, the spoiler belongs.

Simply put, it should be an option. I definately don't like it, at least as is without getting really street with the whole car. If I get and STi. It will be the first thing to go along with as much pink as I can remove...then the hood scoop as soon as I find a FMIC that I like.

So I guess someone who is 30 would have the same impression as someone who was 57.

That was kind of a pointless poll.

I've seen it in person, and still think they should offer a wing delete option.

I'm of the opinion that age ultimately will have little influence on the opinion about the wing. I'm 36, and I like it just the way it is.

However, I really do understand the desire to have a stealthy car. I think it would be cool to make it a sleeper. With the FMIC (no hood scoop), no wing, none of the aerodynamic bits that wouldn't be found on a stock Impreza RS (with no aero options). More subdued wheel and brake caliper.

But I think the ulitimate sleeper would be an STi wagon.

The wing is big and gets your attention. It says "you see this big wing, it's because this is one badass car that can go fast enough to make use of it, look out". That would be fine because the Sti is worthy of making such a statement. It is not out of place on the STi assumeing it is functional.

However if it looks bad one of the reasons is because we are so used to seing riced out POS rolling jokes with wings that big and bigger, so much that such spoilers have become a joke. People who don't know what the Sti is would probably assume it is all show and no go just because they are so used to seeing that on the streets. Hence it looks like a joke, unfortunatly.
