I am interseted in upgrading the wheels and tires when I pickup my wagon. I have seen the MR7s on a couple of cars and thought they looked nice. But, the Prodrive look great also. I know they are more expensive, but are they worth the difference.
Does anyone know how much each weigh? Also, which tires make sense if you want good handling in dry and wet and decent tread life. I would appreciateany insights. Thanks.

depends on what size you are looking at. i know the MR7's don't work in the 17" size, they only come in a 40mm offset i have all ready been down that road, there 18" come in i beleive a 48mm offset which i think will work. hope this helps some...

the P7s i have work great. the offset is perfect(53mm). i have 17" and i think they are about 21lbs. i run Toyo FZ4s on them and love em. i think the wheel is a little heavy but they look good, are easy to clean, virtually indestructible and hey, it's Prodrive!!

If you like them both, get whichever is lightest.

FYI, the OZ Prodrives (P1s) are about 20lbs in 17x7.

The Motegis weight 25.4 lbs at 17". As I said previously, they are garbage, their lightest rim is about 23 lbs at 17" and gets really out of hand from there.

Here is my vote:
Ijust weighed my rims and tire combo: Prodrive p7 in 17" with 205/50R17 Bridegestone RE-730 w/ 35 psi of air = 40 lbs. I have read in other posts the rims weigh about 22 lbs. Paul G. |

I noticed you had silver... check them out on my car.
http://www2.ucsc.edu/~cm2/wrx.htm Here is a sample I REALLY REALLY love these wheels. Highly suggest using them. Or don't so I can have a more unique car. ![]() -Nathan [This message has been edited by N8S_WRX (edited May 17, 2001).] |

i wish i had digital pics of my car and it's P7s...i got mine thru Mastro Subaru. there is a link here. ask for bill. he's selling those in a package deal w/ the Toyo Proxes FZ4s. i think $1400. the wheels are $225 but u get a GREAT deal on the tires. i bought his last set(actually drove down to get them!!) and he doesnt have a definite answer whether he'll be getting more P7s OR P1s from Prodrive(those stingy bastards!!). but give them a call...maybe they WILL be getting more in soon. |

I read somewhere that Motegi is a subset of American Racing, so unless you want heavy-ass POS rims for your F-150, you should go Prodrive

I appreciate everyone's input and the cars look great. I can't wait to get my car which I am told is arriving in June.
Also, for anyone interested. I am buying my car at Gesner Subaru in Somerset, MA. The salespeople are very courteous and professional. I got a great deal on the car. I dealt with Paul Furtardo and recommend him highly. |
