Post Suspension question.... plz help...

I am thinking of getting the KYB/agx struts.

What I want to know is this: Can I run those with the stock RS springs?? Will it change the ride height? I intend on getting springs as well, but I thought new struts might be better first... Any assistance please...

Thanks,
RONIN

<FONT face="Comic Sans MS">Yep, you can do that no problems. The springs determine ride height more than the struts, so your ride height shouldn't change very much at all.

I got kyb agx on my car they work great. I have STi springs though. The struts should work fine with your stock springs. The ride height will not change at all. The springs determine the ride height the shocks/struts only dampen the ride and keep the springs from bouncing the car all over the road. If you get the struts and install them you may find as I did the ride on the higher settings will get stiffer. This alone will help with body roll. One other thing you should think about doing, if you have not already done it, is to get a larger diameter sway/anti roll bar. 18 to 20 mm is the most used sizes. This will help the car handle better too. Have fun fixen her up!

Ronin,

You may want to think about one little thing before you make your decision. Do you want to take the suspension off your car twice? Remember, you will obviously have to take the struts off the car to put new ones on. But when it comes time to put springs on you will have to do it all over again. I don't know about you but it is a big pain in the a$$ to do and I would not want to do it twice any time soon. Just my two cents worth. But I would think about the spring thing and make them both go on at the same time to save money and frustration.

I have AGXs with stock springs. I opted to keep the stock springs since I run on dirt/snow a lot. If you think you'll be running mainly on the road and are considering getting stiffer springs at any time in the future then I'd hold off and get a set of struts and springs together. However, if you like to use your car like a rally car, then I've found the stock springs do very well. Regardless, a stiffer rear sway bar is a must.

The AGXs can be cranked up with the stock springs and they will give you excellent road manners on the pavement.
