Canada requires DRLs standard, which don't go with HIDs so well.

What I don't get is why don't they make DRL HIDs (Basically just headlights on at 100% power).

What really!?!?

That really sucks. Pay for about the same amount of money and we don't get HID!!!???

Can i specially order like they have in the states and have HID??

I don't want aftermarket ones. Stock ones have the adjustable ones.

Aftermarket HID kit would bring you up to US spec pretty easily. It's not like the housings are any different.

I don't understand why everyone likes hids so much. Normal lights have always worked fine for me.

Are you joking? HID's are like night and day difference. Thats like saying "I don't know why people like 500hp when 200hp has always worked for me" Some people don't like to settle for what's "fine".
Whether or not its for safety reasons, pimp factor, or a part of a jdm build-up, HID's are great on any car

I think for a car that cost aprox 30,000, having a set of HID is the very basic thing that the factory should offer.

We do not get HID's but we do get a heated drivers seat (I don't think this is available in the US). No heated passenger seat because that switch position is taken up by the DCCD auto/manual switch.

Why no HID's?

Sounds like cost cutting to me.

My S2000 has DRL's and HID's. No reason the STI shouldn't.

The car at Toronto Auto Show had HID's.

You're thinking of the MY04 WRX. The US STi doesn't get heated seats.

The show car going around everywhere does have a heated drivers seat. That is the button/swtich right above the parking brake lever.

That is what is normally in that spot. I didn't see it myself, so they could have stuffed something else in there.

The button that is up there is the Auto/Man mode for DCCD-A I think.

How can it be a rip-off if you don't know what the car is priced at compared to the U.S. market car?

Canada also gets a rear seat pass-through and U.S. does not.
