Default i saw the fax today oh boy(2/12/03)

I was sitting at my dealer today when a fax came in. It stated the order/option codes for the '04 Imprezas.
It stated all Imprezas arriving in March will be '04 and odering is available for all models...except STI. STI will be arriving in JUNE.

I read it with my own eyes. I don't know what everyone else has been "hearing", but I know what read.

It also showed the WRX ordering codes which were simply 5sp, auto, 5sd w/ moonroof and spoiler, and auto w/ moonroof and spoiler.
STI codes were simply gold or GUNMETAL wheels and listed the 4 colors we already know.

YES, GUNMETAL!!! I know some people have been swearing silver, but like I said before I read it today.

I have kept my mouth shut on all things STI because I hate the speculation from everyone on this board. I wouldn't have posted this if I thought it was BS.

And no there was no pricing for any models.

I hope I helped,
Byron

I'll bet the fax you saw originated at Subaru Distributor Corp (SDC) and wasn't from SOA.

It doesn't change the dates. It does matter as far as prices and which options are available.

I don't recall putting price or options in my post. I told you the 2 ordering codes only differ in their choice of wheel color.

Do you have anything to contribute or do you just go through everybodies posts to correct them with your vast knowledge?

Notice my edit. Are you happy now?

In fact, I do go through everbody's posts, and my knowledge is vast. And your initial post did, in fact, call out options which might vary, depending on which Subaru distributor supplies your dealership.

Jon is one of few that is guessing the msrp will be around 35k...

Actually.. it's easy... just drop a few grands of few markup for
dealers then he will get his 35k STi....

Default nice

How dare you post a post that is only 99.99999999999999999% correct!

Don't let that Jon guy get you down. He has some kind of need to project himself on everyone under the guise, I assume, of being "helpful" or something. But there is a fine line that crosses to "overbearing" and he hasn't learned it yet. We can always hope.

We, the unwashed and of course ignorant masses, appreciate your post!

Byron--welcome to the friendly NASOIC STI board. You know, Jon's knowledge really is vast, even if it is mostly technical in nature. Sometimes he's not too good on the practical side of things. For instance, he has yet to learn how to operate a stick shift.

I believe you when you say the sheet said 'gunmetal', I just wonder why the poll they sent out clearly showed gold and silver as the two color choices...(that's why I thought it was silver, because I saw it with my own eyes)...

It would be nice to have a gunmetal option, though.

The poll you saw came from SOA. The fax byroll01 saw came from SDC.

SDC = SOA

jmaluso- I hope you are talking about a 2004 wrx sedan, I don't believe the STi will have moonroof as an option, if your dealer offered it, it is probably an aftermarket install. I've heard bad things about these, but have no first hand experience, just saying you may want to check it out.

notice he said 5-speed...

Also if the STi comes with a sunroof, I will not even think about buying one. They've tried to drop so much weight and make this thing high performance there is no way it's coming with one.

Please read the post regarding the STI before you go off.

No mention of moonroofs or 5 spd... JUST wheel color.

Wow! March. Any indication of how soon? The letter that comes with the brochure says April for the WRX. I knew the time was near since they finally caved and put the current WRX in their 0% APR deal.

My dealer said he has one more delivery coming in feb and they will still be MY03 and the next one will be march and all Imprezas will be MY04.

I'll ask about wagon and sunroof today. I hate to say I think it only said sedan so far. But don't quote me on that, I'll check today.

My dealer doesn't know any more that most people on this board(and definately no Jon) about the new car. I had to tell the owner what the STI was coming with. I think they are last on the list here in upstate NY. But I am very close with them so if I do get any info I'll pass it along.

thanks
Byron

Also, They sell Saabs too, did anyone hear GM/Saab/Subaru might build a car off the WRX wagon platform?
