Default Toronto auto show is currently going on. STi-S4-S60r are there

Anybody going? It's from feb 14th to feb 23rd.

The STi will be there with the S4 and S60r. If you go, try to get some info for the CDN$ price speculation, HID's for the STi

If you go, be sure to have a close look at the WRC engine sitting on the stand along the back wall. You'll never get a closer look at it out of the car unless you work for prodrive.

So perhaps HID will be an option for the U.S. Sti.

We don't get HID on our Canadian Spec STi because of Daylight Running Light regulations.

I know it sucks

Here, for all of you who can't make it. Beware: photo quality in some of the images are really poor.

Canada does however get heated seats standard and a radio for the STI...

Here are a few pics of the show...

There are pics of the new Subaru red in here too!

I was at the Toronto show today, and saw a few interesting things (which you can see in the previously posted pics, but I didn't notice until I was there :-) ):

1. We have the same seats as seen in the U.S. shows (i.e. the www.wrx-sti.ca pics are wrong, or at least different.) I posted more of my feeling about the seats here:
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...5&pagenumber=2

2. We have the clear, side turn indicators (I don't think these were on the U.S. model.)

3. I think we may not get the rear diff. temp sensor. I am not sure, but I think the wire in the pic here:

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...hreadid=316958

is the sensor wire, and there were no wires on the diff at all.

I took some pics, but they were on film, so I need to develop them. Overall the car looks awesome. I have liked the pictures since they appeared online, but it really does look better in person. The scoop looks... huge, but it does fit the shape pretty well.

Also.... I talked to a Subaru of Canada rep. I ignore most of what I hear at shows/dealerships, as they are often wrong, but FWIW he said that: the rumours about the HIDs not making it because of DRL incompatibility were true; that there would be between 600-1200 for the first year (not sure if he meant model year) for Canada, variable since they would re-evaluate demand each month; that they would expect the first ones by June 1st; and that they would be between 47,000 and 50,000 CAD, and he was guessing 47,900. I said I thought that was high, and that it shouldn't be more than the Track model Z (46,500) and he said he hopes that they will surprise everyone and bring it for even less.

And he also showed me this print-out that looked semi-official that he claimed they had just got. There were a lot of numbers, but these were the ones I recorded, again FWIW:

Weight: 1484kg
9.1 L/100km hwy
13.4 L/100km city

So, that weight seems heavy to me, as that would be about 3265lbs. Maybe our little extras over the U.S. model are really heavy ;-).

I think Subaru only has two North American show STi's available. You folks realize that the STi they're showing in Toronto was previously shown in the US?

Two STi's... yeah, that's a good point. I had forgotten about that. Still, the side markers and the pass-through were there, and I don't recall them being on the U.S. show cars. Maybe they just modified it for the show, to give a better picture of what we are getting.
