Question Looking for Comparison Compression For MY99 RS-T

MY99 Impreza RS-T with 78,000 miles
Last 10,000 miles on boost

Compression
1 - 155
2 - 150
3 - 155
4 - 170

Anyone have any numbers for a MY99 for a comparison?

edit: (These are engine cold numbers.. I guess I should redo the test with the engine hot...)

Default I would suggest doing them hot...

Here's Nick's thread when he had his Minnam Turbo kit with the TEC-II:

Hope this helps.

The more compression test numbers I see the more worried I get. My 99 with 72,000 stock n/a miles tested below 155psi on every cylinder while the engine was still quite hot. With n/a people seeing 190+ and even nick with his turbo having higher compression than me, I am a bit worried. Time for a leakdown test I guess. Maybe I will have a bulit engine before I get the turbo in.

Actual compression numbers are pointless because so many variables will effect them (temp, alt, starter rpm, etc)

Whats more important is that the compression numbers are consistant across the cylinders.

The service manual spec says the spread shouldn't be any more than 49kPA (7PSI)
