1997 legacy GT

hey everybody, im lookin into one w/ 123k miles on it. im goin down to nj on sat. to check it out and was wonderin some things to specially look for. i know about the headgaskets, but was wonderin about anythin else to ask about or keep an eye open for. thanks in advance.

Ask about whether or not the front and rear crank seals were done along with the oil seperator plate (back of block, under the flywheel).
Look under the car for fresh oil at the front and rear of the block, also drips on the "Y" pipe.
These are also problem areas.
If they are original, and you want to romp on the car, plan on a clutch and possibly a lightweight flywheel. These can be done while the rear seal is being done.
To check the headgaskets, have the car running and warmed up. Open the hood and take off the coolant overflow cap and look for bubbles inside. This is an early sign of leaking. Usually prior to overheating.
Those are the biggies for reliability.

Also verify that the recall items have been fixed. One of the recalls was for the alternator.
