Default Income of STI deposit holders ? (exclude SPOUSE's income)

What was YOUR gross income (exclude SPOUSE's income) for the year 2002?

Guidelines:
1. Participate in this poll ONLY IF you ALREADY have a deposit down on an STI.
2. Please DON'T include your spouses income in this calculation.
3. DO include bonuses, but not capital gains and other ancillary income.
4. Gross = before taxes, 401k, etc
5. If somebody else is paying, select "under 40k"
6. Denomination in US dollars.

RESULTS so far (based on results from two forums):
NASIOC forum: 89 votes
I-Club: 24 votes

Average STI deposit holder made about $80k last year. The distribution around the mean is really wide indicating that the target market for the STI is composed of a variety of segments.

Average STI deposit holder made about $75k last year.

The distribution around the mean is really wide indicating that the target market for the STI is composed of a variety of segments. Some have accidently included their spouses income and some of the "under 40k" voters are being supported by their parents so the effects should more or less cancel out.

This poll would have been more accurate by changing two things.
1. Exclude buyers who are beign supported by parental money.
2. Increase the size of each segment to 20k instead of 10k. This way we will see more granularity among the "Over 120k" group.

A mean or average is not an appropriate statistic for what appears to be a bimodal distribution!!!

Yes.

Unfortunately, I was expecting a Normal distribution. Otherwise I would have designed the poll in a slightly different manner by increasing the increment size and excluding those who are not earning a salary. Then we would have been able to get decent statistics for both extremes.

Interesting poll nevertheless.
