Default In the market for a turbo-back

Im looking for a good quality turbo-back, im torn between many companies and set-ups. I would like to have a full 3 inch turbo-back exhaust, but there doesn't seem to be as many out there that i would like. i don't want to spend an arm and a leg for a system, the TXS turbo-back seems appealing, but i would prefer to have a full 3 inch turbo-back instead. What do you guys recommend/think i should do? Thanks

I ran the TurboXS stealthback for a few months with and without cat. It's a nicely made system that's priced right, makes good power and has nice fit and finish.

I am getting ready to switch to an iON/Brüllen 3" stainless turboback running catless. It's also a nicely made system: 16 gauge 304 SS, bellmouth downpipe, flex joint, adjustable muffler hangers, choice of loudness (loud, medium, quiet) and a choice of tip styles.

Does the TXS turbo-back with the blitz rear make it stay at 3 inches from the mid-pipe instead of going down into two inches? Hows the sound? I don't want to be too loud, but would like to be louder than stock of course. I just want to be sure that what i buy is going to be what i want it to be. Thanks

I don't know if you need to retain your cats, but I did a Helix dp with an HKS hi-power cat back. Full three inches from the turbo back. No CELs, great power, excellent sound (albeit a little loud for my tastes).

IIRC, the TXS dp tapers down to 2.5" before meeting the the midpipe. They say the tapering isn't so good either. Could be worng about both though.

TXS Turbo back with Apexi N1 muffler. Really nice but kind of quiet. My last car was a 96 gsr with dc header and 2 1/2 inch piping to tsudo muffler. It was much louder than my rex.

P.S.

Can't wait for an up-pipe!

Default BPM MKiii turbo-back here

This exhaust is NOT for the timid. I have had mine for 18 months, and it still looks great. I was under the car last night replacing the tranny fluid again, and examined the exhaust. It looks amazingly good, even for dealing with the nasty Jersey winters (2 of them so far).

Go here to check out some videos of the exhaust on my car. They don't quite do it justice, the exhaust sounds so badass:

Me neither! Aftermarket turboback are way overpriced.
That's why I'm going with the MattSpec - A low cost Turboback solution.

Nice Matt...

Do you have it all together yet? I've already got a downpipe, and plan on keeping my stock 3rd cat, but am thinking about a similar cat-back design.
