Default Trunk release on keychain

I was hoping for an automatic trunk release on the new 04 STi. By looking at the new pictures from SOA there is none. I carry computers around all the time and a trunk release on the keychain would be very valuable to me. Is there some kind of aftermarket or subaru option for this?

If STi is not coming with a radio... what do you think the chance
that it will come with a remote trunk release?

It could be worse. A friend of mine bought a $40,000+ M3 6 years ago and it did not have cruise control. He was pissed when he picked it up....hehe. I talked to him last night and he says that he still owes 18K on it and it has 105,000 miles. He leased it then purchased it.

I am spoiled by the trunk release, but I won't need it as much going from a 2 door to a 4 door.

If there is no trunk release, your best option would be to do an aftermarket security system with a trunk release option. An actuator may be needed to pop the trunk (if it is a lever release) but the additional cost should be minor.

I guess I was just trying to be optimistic about it. Id really like to get some kind of trunk release put on it. How much would something like that cost? I have no idea.

BZZZZT. Next please.

It was an option on the M3. Standard on my 328is.

Bill
Soon to have an '04 STi with cruise on a stalk - where it's meant to be - thanks to "you know who" for that...
