Default New Guy! (PICS)

Hey, everyone. I just bought my new WRX Tuesday night and found this site yesterday - thought I'd post and say hello. I live in Sacramento, work in Rancho Cordova and am a student at Sac State. I do systems programming and am majoring in business.

Turn-ons: Just kidding.

Anyway, here are some pics of my new WRX - Sorry about the quality, I took them as I was running out the door for work.

Welcome to NASIOC.

I too am a student at sac state. Perhaps the oldest male student in the social work department due to walk with a Masters degree in May....................yippeee for me

Like Michael aka Dorifto said we do have a few meets and its kind of a nice diversion from the rigors of college life. Subaruitis can, however, blossom into a full blown obession. Of course I am much too balanced of a person for that to have happen

p.s. New guy........looks like you might have gotten yer suby at Roseville? anyways thats where I got mine just shortly after the September 11th attack.

I'll look forward to club meets - I love those. Do you guys do regular drives? If so, I might be able to set something up with IMOC (Mr2 Club). My friend is doing a big rally out to Fort Bragg sometime this summer.

Yes, I got my car at Autowest Subaru in the automall in Roseville. They had a good selection and the sales people were pretty friendly. I had helped my mom sell one of her cars that night (private party) and was driving her home so I made her go to Subaru with me. While I was buying my car, a Miata caught her eyes and she bought the Miata for her. It was pretty funny pulling off the lot at midnight in two brand new cars

Now if only I could have gotten her to buy my car too

Thumbs up

Nice taste in cars dont forget break in yeah there's meets in sac now and then. have fun with your car, and as for gargantua being balanced only time will tell obsession seems to be the norm with this car rather than the exception. check out the vishnu dyno day this sat. if you canyou'll get to see how lost in these cars people get

Thanks for the kind words. I'm definitely following the break in per the owners manual. I've never had a brand new car and the last thing I want to do is hose it up

wow..checked out ur site...and noticed u had a 240sx
umm...did u sell it?
man...that year and that body style is to die for...HELLA RARE..
EVEN MORE RARE IF IT WAS A MANUAL.

personally....the 240sx is better..haha...comeon..everyone knows its better.

cheaper insurance, more parts, lsd, famous DRIFT car, better everything...

wrx is still cool of course....but if i had money for parts...i would have gotten a 240sx.

Welcome to the club.

Now get in your car on the 16th of March and hook up with the other Sac town members and head up to Lake Berryessa for a meet I have been trying to get together. So far There are a few people going. Sonoma, Napa, Solano, and Sac Town members are encouraged to come. So come show off the new car. Ther is a thread posted in this forum about the Northbay meet. check it out.

Matt: Actually, when I bought the 240 two years ago, I had also looked at a '00 2.5 I won't shun you..they're nice cars.

And actually, the insurance on my 240 isn't much cheaper, but IMO it's not the better car for me. The handling of the WRX (so far..due to the break in period I can't really push it) is similar to that of my s14 and the WRX has SO much more power. I really like the interior space, along with the AWD and ABS.

I never truly felt comfortable when pushing my s14 and I feel that I will be very comfortable in my WRX. The s14 is a great car, I just wanted something different. And yes, it's gone

How far is Berryessa and what all does the meet entail? I'm dying to get this car past that 1k mile break in mark so I'm down for about any driving I can.

At this point, I don't think I'm working that weekend (although that may change), so I just may show up. I'll check the thread.

You guys are awesome - thanks for the warm welcome. Being part of a laid back, welcoming community of enthusiasts is really cool.

It's about an hour drive for you. Maybe a hour and a half. It's a fun drive though. Try to hook up with the other people from your area and convoy up there. The Sonoma County group meets up and then convoys up. It's a blast. If you can't meet up with that group, then drive up alone. Keep an eye out on that thread and you will see what's going to happen.

When I was going to Sierra there were like 6 RS's there, all but one driven by girls and none in the car clubs
