Painting Sideskirts

I notice some of you guys have your sideskirts painted. I was wondering if you had the dealer (or a dealer) do this, or if a custom shop was able to match your color?

About how much did you pay, also? Thanks.

I did mine, using paint from www.paintscratch.com (2 cans, $60 total, ouch!). It's not perfect because my polishing skillz aren't up to par but the paint is holding up pretty damn fine. The key, apparently, is to use adhesion promoter.

SPI rules! (duh) I was thinking of painting my sideskirts too, but realize they sell them in silver cheap. Mind as well do that in my opinion. Save the fuss and worries of messing up.

I had mine painted for $80, I dont remember the place, they did an okay job, and it has held up well, just needed to give them the paint code, color matched well, there were a few flaws in the painting though. Painted side skirts are the best thing you can do rather cheaply appearance wise (my opinion only).

How's that so? I pay $80 to paint mine and it looks just like the oem ones. Just be sure to know your color code for your rex. I'll said $80 is a fair price man, (I am not talking about crappy paint job, but a descent one that match.) even if u go to paintscratch.com and try to get the spray paint to do it yourself, it would be like $50 -$60. Late. BTW, u can have your skirt comes off first before u bring it to the proper body shop, it'll make your life easier.

I had mine painted by the Way Auto Body in santa Clara for free well actually it was because they had to do some work on my car because of an accedent I was in.
Decent paint job...

Before my accedent I was searching around to paint my side skirts and cheapest I heard it was done for was 60.00 which is the price a person i know had it done for, but then again he is shady and dosent tell any one where he gets his shiat done at.
then i see people having it done for 80.00 on posts.

When i went out to variouse auto body shops they quoted me lowest 120.00 - 750( which is way too fucl(in high)

I have a friend that owns a body shop and im sure if he can get enough people he will do it for 80$ or less

Too bad Subaru's paint is most likey of a lot worse quality than even cheap body shop.

exactly what i was gonna say. and besides, when rocks and chit hit your sideskirts, break thru the spray on junk and leave black dots..............

I guess I can ask u this question again now, the painted side skirt is on my ride for like 10 months now, no chiping offf or anything. Even tho u JUST pay $80 for the job done, the body shop would still sand, paint and clear coat your parts, it's not like the paint will chip/fall off easy 'cause it's not $208 worth of oem part, and I can definitly scratch and chip the oem ones too. Dude, u just spent too much on your skirt, . BTW, The shop is call Cute Auto Body (yeah I know the name's phony but easy to memorize.) and that's located in Redwood city.
