Post Difference between Eibach Pro Kit and the SPD Eibach Kit?

I've seen the Eibach Pro kit advertised for sale at Tire Rack and was wondering if anyone knows if it is the same kit that SPD offers as the "SPD/Eibach Pro Kit"?

Also, I will soon be getting the V5 struts from Lisa and was wondering if the Eibach spring rates would be overdamped with these struts? If I were to assume that the V5 springs are the ideal spring rate developed for these struts, should I find springs with a rate similar to V5's? Since the V5's are no longer available, looking at NorthUrsalia's web site spring rates, I see that the 5Zigen, H&R's, and P1 springs are comparable and that the Eibach's are really "soft" compared to either of these. Would that mean that the Eibach's would give a more compliant ride and that the 5Zigen, etc. would be bone jarring?

Basically I am trying to find the "ideal" match to these struts. I know that to a certain extent that is a taste issue (I don't want rock hard/filling jarring), but beyond that, which of the springs out there are best suited (not overdamped or underdamped) to the V5 strut?

I used the 5 Zigens from ISR before I got the P1 suspension and I was very happy with them. They would be a great match to those struts. It cuts out all the nose dive unde braking and stops allot of body roll.

Hi Pipercub,

why did you switch to the P1 suspension? What differences do you feel in the handling, ride, etc?

Interested also!! Tell us more about the P1. 5Zigen is not an option for me as far as I am concerned because it is just too much of a drop for me. My only real options I am thinking of are:

1. WRX V5 (if I can get ahold of some)
2. P1
3. Eibach Pro-kit
4. Whiteline select

Any others that only drop 1 to 1.25 inches?

The drop is one of the important considerations that I have. I don't want much more than an inch, wanna keep those roll centers optimal. I was liking the progressive spring rate characteristics that the 5zigen seemed to have. Seemed like they would be nice and compliant during the initial travel and then really ramp up to something stiff. But that (almost) 2 inch drop seems a bit much (as far as what Mike Shields seems to think). The price is good though.

Anyone else out there? The searches were not too fruitful as far as information goes. Mostly, "Have brand x and love 'em!" Not too qualitative in the responses about the combination of "Brand X" spring and the V5 struts.

I just put the Eibach springs from Tire Rack on this weekend! (Almost positive they are the same as the SDP?!) I got a new alignment, (specs from Cobb) and wala.. a brand new car! The handling is great! The perfect ride drop! I put mine on stock struts, (with an 18mm sway bar, and good tires) it's supposed to be the same as big boys per SPD. I don't know much about the V5's but they are wonderful on the stockers!
Happy driving! Shawn

Mike Shield is a nutcase... I'm on 5Zigens and the only problem I have with the 1-5/8" lowering they cause is that I get quite a bit of bump steer. Doesn't effect me much on autoX courses tho...

Hey Subee_Love how about some pics with the suspension ( Eibachs )installed. I'm looking at doing the same. I would really appreciate it.

Okay, I decided on the whitelines from Rallispec. They have a minimal drop, about an inch, and they are a bit stiffer than the Eibachs.

Also finally heard from Mike Shields and he has complete WRX-RA V6 for $595, as well as P1 suspension kits available for $795. NOt bad but I already have the struts form Lisa soo...

Will post a review when I get it all installed and aligned.
