Default Mad Props to Karl and Nigel

Between last night and tonight, Karl and I (mostly Karl) with Nigel supervising did the following to my WRX:

Flushed and filled Tranny with Redline Fluid (what a difference!!!)
Flushed and filled Rear Diff with Redline Fluid
Rotated Tires
Fixed Exhaust leak TWICE
changed Front Brake Pads
Added a donated intake thingy from Godmal's WRX
Changed motor Oil with Mobil1 (like always!)
On the way home tonight, after playing with a 350Z, Black WRX, and the sport version of the BMW X5 on 294S, my BUTT DYNO TM says I've gained about 5 wheel HP!

Thanks again Karl for you're hard work and patience with a n00b like me

Congrats on the mods/maintenance, springtime is definitely approaching rapidly, and I'm sure a bunch of install days are coming up

My credit card is already shivering with anticipation!

Yah,

if everything goes as planned, in 6-8 weeks, I'll have hi-performance rotors (with cool groves), race pads, and STi motor/trans moutns, and I'll have the car almost to where I want her.

Oh, and I'm gonna dial up the boost a bit. . .

Yeah, those fluid changes make for big HP gains.

What was changed with the intake?

So sounds like you decided to hold onto the car for a while. Good. I plan on doing the same thing when the time comes I don't know if I'll go with red line or royal purple. As for HP gains yes it actually does give you pretty good gains for something as simple as changing fluids. I think it was HPTV that did a dyno test on some sort of newer hotrod, they replaced trans, rear dif, engine oil, and royal purple coolant aditave. I can't remember the exact numbers but I'm almost positive it was something like 18 wheel HP gained. So it's no joke.

Well... we did the Red Line to help it shift a little better. The HP gain came from the Velocity Stack that I installed to help the air get into the filter box. Next time we plan to do a little more aggressive tweaking...
