Default Redline 7,000, Rev Limiter 7,500

On the 2002 WRX, redline is 7,000. But, my rev limiter doesn't kick in until 7,500. I am usually careful, but at the track it isn't always easy to keep an eye on revs, and have bumped against the limiter a few times.

Is this a problem with MY car, with Subaru, or is 7,500 really O.K.?

FYI I have made no engine mods/ECU upgrades, only have installed a K&N filter.

Your factory tach is not accurate as it reaches redline. It is off by as much as 200RPM on my car. Your car could be even more. I've found the revlimiter on my car to be about 7200RPM give or take 50RPM
