Default Went to Fort Bragg today (Pics, Vid)

Went up to Fort Bragg today. For those familiar, we took I-5 to Hwy 20. Hwy 20 goes up through Willits (sorry for any of you members, but seeing someone with all their teeth in that town was amazing) and in to Fort Bragg.

The driving is GREAT. Then we came back down on Hwy 1 along the coast. The drive was beautiful, the roads were perfect and the traffic was light. We only had one incident that involved some jerk in a red Suburban who wouldn't use the turnouts and instead thought that he could drive fast enough to keep me back.

As I demonstrated when I passed him before he could hit the gas, he was wrong. This car drives GREAT. I've never had so much fun driving.

Here are the pics we took in Fort Bragg:

We didn't do this, but....

Here's a video of my car driving on the road - not fast, but quick.
Behind me is a red truck that I caught back up to after burning a certain Suburban

Those last two pics look like 10 Mile beach North of Fort Bragg. My family has a beach house out on Todd point, straight out from the Noyo Bridge, so I know that area pretty well

I am seriously jealous. That area is SO gorgeous. Honestly I'd like to have a home on 101 where the road is REAL tight, but I'd take one on the water in Fort Bragg as well.

I'm not sure on the beach names, we were mostly trying to get the car past the break in period (which we did) and get me comfortable in corners.

The car was SO great. Handled great, drove great and fast (even though I could go over 4k rpm). Everyone kept pulling out of my way all day (and I wasn't tailgating). We've decided the big lights, scoop and bright yellow paint provided the muscle we needed to move cars out of the way

EDIT: You're probably right about the beach name, it was just off of 1 next to the sign saying 10 miles to Rockport.

Ya, we kind of lucked out too cause my grandparents bought the place in the late 80's and we ended up inheriting it combined with my mom's two sisters. So its kind of a shared deal, which keeps the cost down. Theres a ton of stuff to do up there too, and July 4th is definatly the best because they shoot fireworks off across the harbor and we just go sit on our porch and watch Great stuff!

Ya, I figured that was 10 mile beach.. that little water outlet and island with the "hole" in it gave it away. That beach has changed ALOT over the years though, there used to be alot more sand and it was spread out for a long ways so you could walk like 50 feet out and still only be up to your knees... El Nino a few years ago took out most of that and made it less habitable

Beautiful area and great pictures thanks!
Kind of made me a bit homesick for Eureka and the coastline up in those parts.

My grandparents live in Mendocino, just South of Fort Bragg. One of the greatest drives I've been on is highway 128 from Cloverdale to the coast. If you time it right on a Friday night and get to 128 at about 9:00 or so, you won't run into a soul on that road. Tons of elevation change, tight turns, and long sweepers. When there's no one on the road it's a blast.
