Anyone still have their stock axle-back..? .. I got a chance to look at mine more this weekend, and it's definately messed up... more than I want to leave alone. Oh, can I just pull the muffler off and leave the exhaust dumping before the axle...?...

Before I got a stock axle back from chris I was basically dumping from the midpipe. I actually cut the pipe off the ruined muffler just after it makes the bend past the axle cause I didn't want any hot exhaust gasses possibly effecting the boots on the axle. The problems I noticed was it didn't have much support because all that was holding it up was the 1 midpipe hanger back there. So you may get some rattles when you hit bumps. The other problem was just a personal thing, it was LOUD. Seemed louder than erics with a straight pipe. Course at the time my car was having some problems so that may have effected that.

Here's what I'd get, MBRP catback. Stainless, excellent build quality, and it's only $350. www.pdm-racing.com It's only 2.5" exhaust, but that is fine unless you're going for big power. From what I've read it gives it a lower tone, and not much louder than stock at part throttle but will open up a bit at full. Actually if you or anyone else is interested, I may get one. I haven't been very tempted to get one by myself because shipping from Canada for it is about $120 UPS. If several were ordered shipping should be cheaper.
