Question What's the best year round tire in the 215/45/17 size?

I've read alot of good things about the Dunlop SP 5000's for being perhaps the best tire for year round use...and at the Tire-Rack they carry them in the stock size 205/55/16.

But they don't carry them in the 215/45/17 size. So, if I decide to upgrade my wheels to 17 inchers...then what will be the best all-season tire in the 215/45/17 size?

PM Strepto, he had the FZ4 and he lives in Colorado, so he should be able to give you a snow review of the FZ4. From what i know about them, it still isn;t as good as a h-rated all season, but still lots better than a true summer tire.

Peaty - Wheels are looking good. You gonna paint the lip and sideskirts?

I haven't had them in the snow yet, but I did get to try them out in some very heavy rain. Lots of water on the road and they were very stable.

I don't plan on painting the skirts or lip. I like the contrasting colour myself. The lip goes with the upper/lower grill, washers and bumper vents sort of:

It doesn't snow here in Sydney.. but it sure does rain.. heavy rain.. and the Bridgestone RE011s fitted to my WRX work very well in the rain. Very sure footed, and no hint of sliding. Needless to say they work well in the dry too.
