I recommend EditPlus for a non-wysiwyg editor. It's not free....but they have a trial on there site, and might stumple across a serial for it on Google.

I was wondering the same thing but gave him the benefit of the doubt that maybe someone else made a different program of the same name.

HTML = text so maybe he is confusing a terminal emulation client with a text editor (since both operate on text).

I'd vote for vi too, but for really pretty stuff you'll be a very very busy person for quite some time.
