Subaru Announces Pricing on 2003MY Baja Sport and Two All-New 2003MY Outback Models

CHERRY HILL, N.J., March 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Subaru of America, Inc., the only manufacturer to have all-wheel drive as standard equipment on every vehicle they make, announced today the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for three new 2003 model year vehicles. The 2003 model year Baja Sport, 2003 model year Outback with Premium Audio System and 2003 model year Outback H6-3.0 Wagon models are the latest additions to the Subaru line of crossover vehicles.

Baja Sport

Baja Sport retains most of the more than 60 standard features found on the original Baja model, such as air conditioning, power moonroof, power windows, mirrors and door locks. The Baja Sport features medium gray moquette upholstery with black vinyl bolsters in place of the original Baja model's standard leather-trimmed upholstery. Other distinguishing features are two-beam multi-reflector headlights instead of the four-beam, and black door handles and exterior mirrors instead of body color found on the original Baja. MSRP for Baja Sport with five-speed manual transmission is $21,995 and $22,795 with optional four-speed electronic automatic transmission.

Outback with Premium Audio System

Available in both standard 5-speed manual transmission and optional 4-speed electronic automatic transmission, the new Outback with Premium Audio System offers the option of substituting the All Weather Package for a Premium Audio System. The system includes an AM/FM/Weatherband stereo, 6-disc in-dash CD changer, eight upgraded speakers and a rear sub-woofer speaker. MSRP remains the same as Outback: $23,245 for manual transmission and $24,045 for 4-speed electronic automatic transmission.

Outback H6-3.0 Wagon

Available with the same standard features as the 4-cylinder Outback with All Weather Package, the new Outback H6-3.0 wagon also features a 212-horsepower, 6-cylinder engine. Additionally, the model includes standard 4EAT automatic transmission, body color door handles, body color foldable large-type exterior mirrors, a leather wrapped shifter handle, leather wrapped steering wheel and an automatic climate control system with air filtration and ambient temperature gauge. MSRP for this model is $26,995.

All 2003 model year Baja and Outback models meet all federal passenger car safety standards, with the exception of the Baja dark-tinted rear privacy glass. All Subaru models comply with Low Emission Vehicle (LEV) standards and are certified for sale in all 50 states. All 2003 Subaru models feature the peace of mind of standard 24-hour roadside assistance for 3 years or 36,000 miles.

21,995 is MUCH better, but 26,995 for that base model H6 is still nuts...
