Default Exhaust Question...

I have a 2000 N/A RS but am looking to go turbo in about a year or so... most people have told me to get 2.25" exhaust but I'd like to go ahead and get 2.5" and not have to worry about ever changing it... will the larger exhaust hurt my performance at all?

Thanks,
Scott

You mean besides losing low end torque because you've done away with needed engine backpressure? No .

Yeah, I thought the same thing Dave... i figured we were right... just was hoping to get a different answer... like "No, you'll gain 163.19 WHP and 144.09 FT/LB of Torque!"

Yeah, put a 2.5" exhaust on it and it'll blow up....

The amount you'll lose down low:
1) will more than be made up for up top.
2) will still be more than a 2.2 or 1.8 has.
3) will make you that much more thankful for future boosting!

Why buy two exhausts when you can buy one that works for both.

Default with a 2.5"

With a 2.5" exhaust you will lose backpressure and your some low-end torque while running your stock engine.... as far as upgrading to a turbo later, you may want to go with a 3.0" to the back to open it up... don't say I didn't warn ya...
