Default CEL (messed up gas gauge)

Ok, this is the second time this has happened. I didn't do anything to the engine or any electrical work.
Scenario; Gas gauge drops to E, light comes on, CEL comes on.
Reset ECU, all is fine.
It's happened twice now, causes?

Get the code pulled next time.

could be failing fuel sending units.

Could also be the evap emissions solenoid going or a leak in the evap system. Personally, if it only happens when the gas light comes on... don't let the tank get that low .

No, no... The gauge will be at half a tank or more, then just drop real fast (5 seconds) to E. The light will come on, then the CEL will appear. The tank isn't empty. And what is evap emissions?

DJ, don't worry about the evap emissions... you've just given more info and evap is NOT your problem. You've either got a bad sending unit, bad gauge, or bad float on your fuel pump. Get the code pulled from your local Autozone, Pep Boys, etc and then we can figure out what the best fix is.

ok, thanks. It hasn't happened for a few days, but the next time it does I'll be sure to get it pulled. Thanks.
